Insight Global Firewall/Network Administrator in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina

Job Description

We are searching for a Firewall/Network Admin to support a federal client on a large program. This is a 90% Remote role and requires 1 day on site per month. Responsibilities include:

 Provides Tier 1-3 engineering and support in the monitoring, management, and troubleshooting of OIG network devices to include FortiGate firewalls, FortiAuthenticator, FortiAnalyzer, FortiManager, and Cisco switches. Assists with cloud engineering of the security perimeter and network areas.

 Implements firewall routing rules and policies.

 Escalates issues as required to OIG team lead and monitors issues through the trouble life cycle.

 Performs recurring maintenance activities such as device reboots on perimeter devices.

 Records and reports concerning network operations and maintenance. Troubleshoots network performance issues. Analyzes network traffic.

 Collaborate with agency staff and team members to implement network changes as they relate to OIG security.

 Routinely updates architecture diagrams using Visio.

 Monitor and perform health checks on multiple security and network devices.

 Draft, coordinate and publish outage notifications as required.

 Create and update daily checks and provide status updates to team lead daily.

 Troubleshoot OIG perimeter security devices in conjunction with EPA and vendor-provided support.

 Maintain standard operating procedures and guides.

 Attend daily meeting(s) and participate in working groups, as related to changes to the OIG and EPA computing environments.

Skills and Requirements

-5 years minimum of experience supporting firewalls, switches, and networking

-One of the following certifications such as FortiGate Firewall Administrator or CCNA

-Experience troubleshooting network devices to include FortiGate firewalls, FortiAuthenticator, FortiAnalyzer, FortiManager, and Cisco switches.

-Experience updating architecture diagrams using Visio null
