TITLE: *Vaccine Coordinator *JOB OVERVIEW: The Vaccine Coordinator is directly responsible for overseeing the immunization programs at Valley Primary Care Clinics ensuring compliance and audit readiness with all program requirements and updates. This role includes but not limited to overseeing all aspects of vaccine management including ordering, inventory, receiving, handling, and storage of vaccines for all assigned clinic locations. The Vaccine Coordinator must possess a clear comprehension of vaccines and the immunization scheduling, as well as the guidelines and regulations of the Washington Department of Health Vaccine for Children (VFC) Program. Occasional travel, and overtime (after-hours and/or weekends) may be required, for the purpose of responding to out-of-range temperature excursions and after-hour notifications. Required use of personal vehicle.
DEPARTMENT: Clinic Network WORK HOURS: Variable REPORTS TO: Manager Ambulatory Education and Training
PREREQUISITES:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Current, active and unrestricted MA/LPN License required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (must be American Heart Association or Red Cross accredited program).
- Minimum of three (3) years' experience as an MA/LPN is required.
- Experience with adult and pediatric vaccine administration.
Working knowledge and understanding of Vaccine for Children (VFC) regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Must have proficient computer skills including data entry. Must be able to use a variety of office equipment including fax machine, scanner, printer and copier and answering telephones.
- Ability to work collaboratively as a team to accomplish specific goals, teach employees new procedures, demonstrate use of equipment/supplies, communicate by phone/in person with department staff and outside sources. Must maintain a professional appearance along with friendly, cooperative, caring, and calm behavior.
- Skilled in prioritizing assignments.
- Ability to follow moderate to complex instructions and proofread documents for content and accuracy.
- Able to recognize and appropriately report safety problems or other problem situations.
