New opportunity for a Senior Project Development Engineer to join Ameresco's West Engineering team based in the Pacific Northwest in the development and implementation of design build projects, energy performance contracting projects, new technology and renewable energy initiatives. The Senior Project Developer builds effective relationships with team members, internal and external customers, designers, suppliers, and subcontractors. This person is responsible for oversight and/or preparing preliminary budgets, milestone Schematic Design (SD), Design Development (DD) or Construction Development (CD) cost estimates, and final bid scope/pricing proposals. The Senior Project Developer plays a direct role in building credibility with our customers and target customers, is resourceful, and is excited about developing win strategies using company resources/assets, design consultants, subcontractor partners, and key vendors. Responsibilities: Reviews new opportunities and current contracts for expanded work possibilities and assess Go or No-Go recommendation. Reviews and evaluates bid invitations and proposal requests. Provide regular updates to local/regional leadership team. Prepare conceptual design, schematic, design development, final cost estimates and bid documentation in support of construction, operations, and maintenance of customer site programs and projects. Provide design guidance throughout construction, project commissioning, and operations. Coordinate with vendors and installation contractors for feasibility and pricing verification of proposed project requirements. Manage project expenditures and job cost accounting including documentation, approvals, tracking, and reporting for design aspects. Collaborate and communicate effectively with the owner team and design team to identify cost saving opportunities. Reviews estimates and preliminary schedules for completeness and accuracy. Self-perform estimates for potential projects which includes quantity takeoffs for each project task. Ensure compliance with company, industry, trade,and jurisdictionalsafety standards, practices, codes and successful project implementation that meets or exceeds company objectives, financial parameters, and technical needs required to deliver customer energy cost savings. Maintains knowledge of construction industry estimating and scheduling practices and recommends improvements, which elevate firm to a leadership position in the industry. Perform other duties as required. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or related concentration. Minimum of five (5) years of energy efficiency or design-build experience covering all aspects of general construction, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical. Additional Qualifications: Demonstrated knowledge of national, state and local building codes. Proficiency and experience utilizing AutoCAD, Bluebeam or other drafting software is desired. Proficiency and experience utilizing On Screen Take Off or other estimation software is desired. Desire to mentor others on best practices in local ESC
