Providence St. Joseph Health Clinical Informatics Specialist in Renton, Washington

Description * This is a hybrid position that requires on-site presence at a ministry located in Missoula, MT and require associated travel/drive to several locations in the Western MT Service Area* Providence is seeking a Clinical Informatics Specialist who will: Serve as a professional role model in promoting the understanding, integration, and application of information technology in healthcare settings. Act as a liaison between clinical care and information technology, supporting all care givers throughout the care continuum in the implementation, learning, use, adoption and optimization of clinical technologies. Support the analysis, design, implementation, evaluation, optimization and maintenance of clinical information applications and projects within the assigned ministry/area. Require team participation skills delivered in a complex, highly stressful environment, skilled use of clinical information sciences, and fundamentals of project and change management. With licensure in a clinical discipline (e.g., nursing, respiratory therapy, etc.) bring required comprehensive understanding of clinical process and practice standards, patient flow and operational processes. In this position you will: Demonstrates competencies in line with the core values that are the foundation of all activities performed by caregivers in order to achieve the Mission of the PSJH System. Education/Coaching: Ensures that workflow and training knowledge delivered is consistent with and accurately reflects current national informatics and adult learning standards. Communicates technology changes, upgrades, and downtimes to clinical customers. Problem-Solving: Conducts workflow analysis to improve efficient, reliable use of the clinical information systems. Develops and maintains established standard of work and system design. Customer Service: Responds and assists customers immediately upon request and follows up on previous interactions to ensure issue resolution, escalation or issue closure with as appropriate considering the dynamic nature of information systems and system priorities. Able to effectively communicate to clinical customers and is perceived as approachable and reliable. Teamwork: Demonstrates effective interactions and positive interpersonal skills in dealing with others in order to maximize productivity and positive employee relations. Actively and efficiently engages with key leaders, teams and subject matter experts to collaborate on and influence the design and development of projects, curriculum and workflows, and the integration of technology into patient care processes. Clinical Support: Promotes highest attainable quality in the full life cycle of Clinical Information Systems. Professional Development: Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current evidence, projects, meetings and workshops. Frequently updates knowledge regarding health care and informatics trends, adult learning methodology, and issues and actively seeks opportunities to apply this knowledge to practice. Working Conditions: Frequent travel among regional facilities (up to 80%) and occasional travel among PSJH entities (10%-40%) is required. Employee may be required to work on-call, after hours and variable shifts and weekends to meet client needs. Reliable transportation throughout the region is required. This position will also assist with initiatives in Eastern Washington.
