Aston Carter Senior Tax Associate in Reno, Nevada
We are currently hiring for a Senior Tax Associate with a great firm in the Reno area!

PTO: accrued each paycheck, a total of three weeks annually.
Time Bank: As pre-approved, time worked in excess of 80 hours during a bi-weekly pay period will be added to your time bank. These time banked hours may be used to take additional time off during slow times, or for vacation, or may be paid out as compensation.
Holidays: New Year’s Day, The day after tax season ends, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and the day after, Christmas, Health Insurance (medical, dental & vision): Eligible the first of the month following 30 days of employment. We cover the cost of the employee.
401k: Eligible to participate the first day of the month after 90 days of employment. The firm provides up to a 4% match. The match vests immediately. The profit-sharing portion vests 20% annually.

Located: Reno, NV
Work environment: Onsite (light hybrid flexibility once fully acclimated, but for the most part fully onsite)

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited 4-year college. If degree is in related field like business, economics, finance then they would need to have the 150 credit hours that include the necessary accounting coursework.
Working toward or obtained CPA license.
Exceptional experience using CCH ProSystem fx, CCH Engagement, and Office Tools a plus.
3+ years of accounting experience.
Responsibilities
Assist with preparation of more complex Federal and State tax returns, computations, workpapers, and schedules, including:
Individual Returns
Trust & Estate Income Tax Returns, Estate Tax Returns, and Gift Tax Returns
Partnership, LLC, S. Corp., and C Corp. Returns
Tax Exempt Organization Returns
Various state tax returns with emphasis on California
Perform technical research supporting positions taken in tax filings, including drafting written memorandums.
Prepare various other types of returns related to business, etc. (i.e., sales and use tax, commerce tax, business/personal property tax).
Assist with training other accounting staff.
Generate regular financial reports, like balance sheet and profit and loss statements.
Assist with various controller tasks (if applicable).
Coordinate with the clients’ external advisors and other Firm team members on tax documentation and tasks as needed.
Communicate with clients, advisors, and team members to deliver exceptional service.
Prepare financial statements and budgets and analyze budget variances.
Conducts risk assessments and evaluations.
Issue spot and identify additional client needs or areas for improvement.
Bill a minimum of 1,800 annual hours.
Maintain work papers and electronic and/or paper files.
Participate in the implementation of client management policies and procedures, including new client set‐up
