Robert Half Assistant Controller in Reno, Nevada
Description Katie Weigel with Robert Half Finance and Accounting, direct hire placement of accounting and finance professionals, is recruiting to fill an Assistant Controller position for a Reno based construction and property management company. This is a great opportunity for a Senior Accountant looking to grow in their career. The position requires 3-5 years of experience, with some experience in property management or construction highly desirable.
Day to day, the position is responsible for:
• Manage all accounting activities including: accounts payable, payroll, depreciation, reconciliation, etc.
• Oversee payroll process and distributions
• Oversee accounting system
• Implement internal controls
• Supervise bookkeepers, work with property managers, employees, and CPA, report directly to investor partners.
• Review past financials and budgets to identify variances and irregularity
• Oversee all insurance policy renewals including quarterly annual premium audits
• Personal Property Tax reporting and review.
• Oversee and produce internal reports to investors and managers
• Work with CPA to produce and estimate depreciation schedules, interest tracing and equity positions
• Assist with Cash management and forecasting
• Review financial reports and accounting statements to ensure their accuracy
• Prepares financial budget, projections, and other financial analytical reports.
The ideal candidate for this role will have a BS Degree in Accounting and 3-5 years of work experience in the areas noted above, as well as some experience in construction or property management. Strong technology skills are important, the company utilizes AppFolio, QuickBooks and Builder-Trend software packages. • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems
• Thorough understanding and application of Accounting Functions
• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Familiarity with Auditing procedures
• Ability to manage Billing Functions effectively
• Proficiency in managing General Ledger
• Experience in Budgeting and Forecasting
• Skilled in Variance Analysis
• Capability to efficiently handle Account Reconciliation
• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel
