Robert Half Accounting Manager/Supervisor in Reno, Nevada

Description Katie Weigel with Robert Half Finance and Accounting is recruiting to fill an Accounting Supervisor role with a well established Real Estate company in Reno. The Accounting Supervisor will maintain financial records, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments. The role includes working closely with the accounting team to create and analyze financial reports and ensure legal requirements compliance, process accounts payable and receivable, and manage invoices and tax payments. The ideal candidate is familiar with accounting software packages, like QuickBooks, Appfolio and Yardi. The candidate hired into this role will provide financial reports and be a key point of contact to investors and owners.

Responsibilities

• Understanding of cash and accrual basis accounting

• Ability to create budgets and projections

• Ability to create financial reports via operating system

• Income statement, P& L, AR, AP, and balance sheet, Rent Roles, Management Fee Calculations

• Excel, word, and solid level of accounting software proficiency (QuickBooks, AppFolio, and Yardi)

• Ability to answer financial questions to investors, owners and property managers about operations and how to derive those answers from the financial reports

Skills

• Proven bookkeeping experience

• Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles

• Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records

• Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers

• Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software

• Proficiency in MS Office and accounting software

• Customer service orientation and negotiation skills

• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail

• Ability to provide reporting and answer questions for key-decision makers

The person in this role reports into the CFO and oversees a couple of bookkeepers in the accounting department. The company offers a competitive compensation and benefits package, and the company is centrally located. There is opportunity for growth. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of accounting experience with at least 2 years in property management. Some post secondary education, such as an AA or BS Degree is desired.
