Leidos Technical Director of Enterprise Networks and Compute Solution Architects in Remote, United States

The Leidos Digital Modernization Office of Technology has an opening for a Technical Director of Enterprise Network and Compute Solution Architects.

This is an exciting opportunity to use your solution architect expertise and leadership experience in support of our Federal Information Technology customers.

This telecommuter-based position requires up to 25% travel to the Washington Metro area and/or customer and partner locations.

Primary Responsibilities

Provide technical direction and management to IT Solution Architects and other technical support staff focused on winning Federal IT Digital Modernization business opportunities for growth. The architects managed will be aligned to either Network (LAN, MAN, WAN, Transport, WLAN) based capabilities or to Compute and Storage (CSPs, On-premises) capability; however, the managed staff have familiarity with full spectrum Digital Modernization Enterprise Capabilities and methodologies, such as ITIL.

The Technical Director will guide SAs to develop comprehensive technical plans to address capture schedule, technical staff needed, processes employed, new and emerging technology, standard and emerging business models, training, and Operations and Maintenance. Additionally, the Technical Director will participate in formal capture process as a “hands on” performing SA, as well as support the direction of staff spread across multiple concurrent captures. The director will lead reviews to assess the state of a capture and provide recommendations for improvement throughout the lifecycle of the capture. The director will work closely with the extended OOT team including CTOs and Leidos Research and Development teams as we collaborate to produce winning proposals.

Basic Qualifications

• BA/BS or equivalent experience and 15+ years of prior relevant experience

• Possess 10+ years of experience supervising or leading teams or project teams.

• 5+ years of experience supervising technical teams as a manager

• Extensive experience leading subsections of technical volumes as well as the entire technical volume and the associated elements of cost, such as the Labor Basis of Estimate and the Bill of Materials

• Experience writing Technical Proposal sections and credibly injecting strengths into the response.

• Possesses broad IT Knowledge base with key IT technologies to include but not limited to: End user computing, Network WAN/LAN, Virtualization Technologies, Defensive Cyber Operations, Cloud Technologies, AI/ML.

• Understanding of Application Sustainment, Application Common Services, Modernization for cloud migrations and Data Engineering.

• Understanding of S/W development methodologies, DevSecOps and associated tools.

• Excellent written and oral communication capability, including the ability to communicate with executive leadership regarding matters of significant importance to the organization.

• Experience and ability to successfully negotiate and influence others to understand and accept new concepts, practices, and approaches.

• Estimation expertise obtained by estimating projects and completing projects on programs as well as in a capture environment

• Experience identifying and assessing business impacts to proposed changes to a largely technical solution or enterprise operations.

• Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications

• Systems engineering experience

• Experience as a Network Engineering Manager or as a Storage and Compute Engineering manager.

• Experience with Cloud Service Provider FEDRAMP Plus Impact Level 4, 5 and 6 controls

• Experience interacting with major Network Product Vendors, CSPs and Compute and Storage Product Vendors.

• Extensive experience planning competitive new business pursuits for bids greater than $250M.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $144,300.00 - $260,850.00
