Position Overview

The Tax Treasury team is relied upon by all facets of the organization including sales, new client implementation, client support and finance. The Deposit team is responsible for remitting over $80 billion annually from our clients with precision and accuracy, ensuring compliance with tax regulations and company policies.

Performance Objectives

The below represents the primary responsibilities of the position. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

· Review and submit client tax liability payments and payment coupons accurately to taxing authorities.

· Maintain accurate deposit frequencies and EINs across multiple systems.

· Configure the tax system to meet the diverse needs of charter schools effectively.

· Partner with taxing agencies to guarantee precise and compliant remittance of payments, in alignment with tax laws and regulations.

· Analyze late deposits, providing comprehensive root cause analysis and accountability to the Notice team for resolution.

· Conduct audits to validate client tax setups, including payment methods to ensure operational success.

· Partner with the Banking Operations team to address funding related exceptions to mitigate risk.

· Collaborate closely with the Distribution team to ensure timely receipt of check files for printing and mailing to tax agencies.

· Authorize Deposit ACH files and verify proper processing by the Bank.

· Transmit electronically filed monthly returns, ensuring timely submission and resolution of any errors encountered, while adhering to deadlines.

· Collaborate with internal teams to strengthen processes and deliverables.

· Resolve emails and Help Tickets received by the Tax Treasury department within established SLAs.

· Provide support to other team members within the department, handling overflow tasks and serving as backup for essential functions.

· Actively participate in team meetings, offering personal experiences and perspectives when discussing process gaps

· Ensure timely completion of daily, weekly, biweekly, and quarterly tasks.

· Contribute to peer review validations to uphold quality standards.

· Identify gaps in written procedures and assist with updating to enhance overall process.

· Assist with assigned special projects aimed at promoting scalability, efficiency, and risk mitigation.

· Work towards a goal of continued process improvement.

· Assist with metrics reporting and maintenance to communicate department activities and workload to Upper Management.

· Identify potential risks and effectively communicate trends and mitigation to management.

· Implement best practices and exercise sound judgment to rectify processing issues or oversights in operations.

· Demonstrate a strong sense of initiative and a passion for continuous learning and professional development and take ownership of tasks.

· Assist with New Hire training.

· Provide support in addressing client escalations, actively resolving issues, and implementing preventative measures for long-term resolution.

· Maintain an ability to perform all Deposits tasks at an intermediate or higher level, with an ability to perform at least one set of tasks at an advanced level.

· Develop an understanding of the Cash process and how it impacts Deposit processes

· Perform other duties and ad hoc projects as assigned.

Education and Experience

· High school diploma / GED equivalence required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

· Payroll service bureau experience strongly preferred.

· CPP or FPC certified or progress toward certification preferred.

· High level of integrity.

· Strong organizational and time management skills.

· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

· Minimum 3 years’ experience in Banking, Payroll, or Tax Compliance required.

· Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel required.

· Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, adapting quickly to changes.

· Strong attention to detail.

· Strong communication skills and problem-solving ability.

· A curious mindset and hunger for knowledge required.

This role can be performed from any office in the US. The pay range for this position is $43,000 - $58,000 /yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
