Sr. Manager, Internal Communications

At Paylocity, our people are at the heart of what we do. We're looking for a dynamic, collaborative, and strategic Sr. Manager of Internal Communications to help us bring our culture to life and fuel our growth as we continue to lead the market in the development of the most complete platform for the modern workforce. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive internal communications strategy that reflects our employee-centric culture and helps all employees understand and contribute to our business objectives. Just as important, you’ll partner with and support teams across our highly collaborative enterprise to bring news, updates, and organizational initiatives to the all-employee audience.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a strategic internal communications plan that supports Paylocity's goals, culture, and employee engagement initiatives

  • Lead and mentor a team of internal communicators, providing guidance and ensuring the delivery of clear, consistent, and impactful messaging across all internal channels

  • Partner closely with senior leadership to craft and deliver executive communications, including town halls, leadership messages, etc.

  • Oversee the creation, management, and optimization of content for various internal platforms

  • Measure the effectiveness of internal communications efforts and use data-driven insights to continuously improve strategies and tactics

  • Manage crisis communications internally, ensuring employees are informed and updated during critical situations

  • Collaborate with HR, Marketing, legal, and other departments to align internal messaging with external brand positioning and talent acquisition efforts

  • Develop messaging for key company updates, including enterprise-level leadership announcements, major business initiatives, and significant organizational changes.

  • Manage and maintain internal communication channels, ensuring content is up-to-date and aligned with strategic objectives.

  • Provide counsel to senior leadership on best practices for internal communication and assist in preparing speeches, presentations, and talking points.

  • Measure the effectiveness of internal communications efforts using employee feedback, surveys, and other data to ensure continuous improvement.

Requirements:

  • 8 -10-years' experience in corporate or internal communications

  • 5+ years' experience leading teams

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, communications, or related field.

  • Adept at advising, influencing and presenting to executive leadership

  • Strong business acumen, with the ability to translate financial performance and business objectives that can be understood and internalized by all employees

  • Ability to create structure, strategy, process and introduce best practice across the function and the organization

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

  • Proven track record of applying innovative thinking and strategic approaches to communications strategies

  • Must be able to transition seamlessly from strategic ideation to tactical execution

  • Highly collaborative, with a client-service mentality and the ability to partner across the entire organization

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Ability to remain flexible in a fast-paced, high-growth environment

This role can be performed from any office in the US. The pay range for this position is $145,000 - $185,000/yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for an annual bonus and restricted stock unit grant based on individual performance in addition to a full range of benefits outlined here.
