Responsibilities

Job Summary:

The Senior Data Architect under the Ascension Data Delivery & Governance (ADDG) organization within Ascension Technologies, will be responsible for defining Ascension’s data strategy, Data Architecture that enables seamless data integration. With a strong background in data architecture and Engineering, you will design and implement scalable data solutions that support multiple use cases across different products or domains. You will stay ahead of industry trends, integrating best practices into our data management approach, and a unique blend of technical acumen, leadership and strategic thinking will make a driving force towards a data-driven future. Ability to define, design and implement reusable frameworks. Think ahead of the future state and technology landscape. Should have exposure to Gen AI

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Architecture Expertise: Define the Data Strategy, Lead the design and implementation of robust, scalable and secure data platform architecture that meet business requirements and industry best practices.

  • Solution Design Expertise: Lead by example in technical excellence and decision-making. Be the go-to person for complex data engineering challenges and provide strategic direction. Serve as a trusted advisor to our data architecture, data engineering teams, providing guidance on cloud architecture design, implementation strategies and best practices

  • GCP Expertise:Demonstrate proficiency in GCP tools and services, including BigQuery, CloudSpanner, Dataflow, DataForm, Dataprep, and Healthcare APIs. Stay abreast of GCP updates and incorporate new features into our architecture

  • Solution Implementation: Lead the implementation of healthcare data analytics solutions. Guide, mentor and work with the development team translating architectural design into scalable system(s). Enable Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment of data model, data pipelines, etc

  • Healthcare Domain Knowledge

  • Cost Optimization: Analyze GCP Services and spending patterns to identify opportunities for cost optimization. Provide architecture recommendations on that selection and resource allocation

  • Security and Compliance:

  • Arrive at data solution diagrams including data flow diagrams, use case models, etc.

  • Collaborate with Data Modelers, Data Engineers, QA team and stakeholders to ensure thorough understanding of requirements and delivery integrated solutions

Key Skills:

  • Defining Data Strategy, Data Architecture with exposure to industry standards like TOGAF, DAMA, etc.

  • Strong GCP experience at Architect level and ability to guide, mentor and design components using various GCP Services - including BigQuery, CloudSpanner, DataForm, DataPrep, etc

  • Expert using SQL

  • Advanced experience with ETL/ELT architecture, Data Integration, warehouse implementations and experience with enterprise level ETL/ELT tools.

  • Expert in designing and implementing data quality assurance processes.

  • Experts in understanding business need to translate those needs into an effective data architecture and model.

  • Expert in Entity-Relationship modeling, with specific expertise in Star/Snowflake Schema modeling.

  • Exposure in one or more enterprise-level Modeling tools, IDA, ERWin, ER-Studio, etc.

  • Programming language proficiency in Python, etc

  • Experience in Big data technologies such as Spark and familiarity with advanced analytics and machine learning concepts

  • Advanced understanding of data normalization and denormalization techniques.

  • Expert in Metadata management and tools.

  • Experience in Master Data management/systems and Reference Data management/systems.

  • Exposure to batch, real-time, near real-time and various data integration patterns

  • Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to lead and facilitate discussions with business and technical stakeholders from executive level leadership to daily hands-on contributors.

  • Expert in time-management and self-directed activity.

Additional Preferences

  • 10+ years with experience in the data and analytics space.

  • 5+ years of Data Strategy/Architecture experience

  • Extensive knowledge of HL7 and FHIR

Requirements

Education:

  • High School diploma equivalency with 5 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required, with 2 of those years being in leadership/management OR Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree with 3 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required, with 2 of those years being in leadership/management.
