Job Description

Manage a team that acts as the central resource and driving force for the design, process, manufacturing, test, quality and marketing of product(s) as they move from conception to distribution. Organize interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget.

As a manager in the product development division, you will lead a team that defines product specifications and or strategy. Gather and analyze information to define product specifications and review design specifications. Communicate product strategy and functionality. Initiate and foster relationships with other groups. Review product documentation and collateral. Ensure successful product releases based on corporate priorities.

Manages and controls activities in multi-functional areas of sections. Ensures appropriate operational planning is effectively executed to meet Corporate business needs. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development and product management. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) enables businesses of all sizes to run their workloads on our industry-leading cloud infrastructure. Customers around the world rely on OCI to provide secure, performant, cost effective and flexible resources allowing them to scale their infrastructure to keep up with their changing business needs and pay for only what they use. As customers continue to migrate their workloads to the cloud in increasing numbers, OCI is in need of an experienced and innovative Product Management leader to ensure the evolution of our products and services meet our customers’ unique needs. Compute is the foundation on which OCI is built; developments in it have a huge impact on our customers and Oracle’s business and are visible at the most senior levels of leadership.

OCI Compute Usability is looking for an experienced product leader to own and drive the product roadmap for the areas in our scope. This role will partner closely with engineering teams to develop the right features and capabilities at the right time to our key customers. You will help define and champion the vision and own the portfolio across a range of offerings across Compute Usability. Working in a space as central to the business as Compute is a very challenging space where the demands are always higher than supply where prioritization decisions are critical. To that end, you will lead feature definition, prioritization, and partner coordination across multiple internal service teams. This role is inherently cross-functional and you should expect to work closely with engineering, design, partner, and executive teams.

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of product management experience with high-quality and large-scale services including customer analysis, market segmentation, KPI management, operational management and roadmap development

  • 3+ years management experience leading product managers, UX designers, developers and data science teams to deliver complex, global experiences

  • Prior experience working as part of a platform team preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or technical field of study or equivalent professional experience

  • Great verbal and written communication skills and ability to work effectively on shared projects with UX designers, product managers, and other developers

  • MBA or masters in computer science preferred

  • Strong understanding of platform service models, including Platform as a Service, Web Services, Front End technology stacks and Service Oriented Architectures

  • Ability to lead, drive consensus and deliver in a matrix organization with multiple stakeholders

  • Proficient with web services, online technologies, virtualization, developer tools, and user interface design.
