Job Description Summary

The Senior Health & Safety Manager, Process Safety will drive the advancement, implementation, and continuous enhancement of GE HealthCare’s process safety and explosion safety programs. This role demands collaboration across various sites and functions to ensure compliance with and integration of GE HealthCare’s safety standards. The successful candidate will bring extensive expertise in process safety regulations and hazardous chemical operations, with a proven ability to convey complex technical information clearly and effectively. We seek a strategic leader with exceptional communication skills, a strong vision for integrating safety into corporate strategy, and a demonstrated track record of driving organizational change. This is a remote role and requires 30% global travel with some focus on Norway.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Lead the creation and execution of global process safety and explosion safety programs for both regulated and non-regulated operations.

  • Define and integrate GE HealthCare’s risk tolerance criteria for process and explosion safety.

  • Develop strategies to incorporate process safety principles into non-regulated chemical processes.

  • Interpret, communicate, and integrate business, industry, and regulatory standards related to process safety.

  • Share best practices and key learnings across the company to enhance process safety standards and performance.

  • Analyze key metrics and trends to assess process safety and explosion safety performance.

  • Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed process safety considerations into corporate operations and risk management strategies.

  • Lead and participate in compliance audits and framework reviews to meet company and local requirements.

  • Deliver technical and non-technical training to diverse audiences.

  • Serves as a coach and mentor to other EHS professionals to build the Process Safety and High-Risk Operations pipeline in the region.

  • Works with EHS training team as a subject matter expert to ensure appropriate technical and regulatory competency for EHS professionals and other operational employees.

  • Supports other EHS regional demands as assigned.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, environmental science, process safety, or a related field from an accredited institution.

  • Extensive experience in overseeing process safety programs and compliance.

  • Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time.

  • Strong problem-solving and project management capabilities.

  • Strategic thinker with a proven ability to develop and implement long-term plans.

  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.

  • Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional teams and collaborating effectively in a diverse environment.

  • Proactive and adaptable problem-solving approach.
