The Role
An Account Manager is the lead point of contact for your accounts, and you have the primary responsibility for selling and supporting Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry Division (CMD) products. The assigned accounts represent customers where the analytical technology is expected to be robust and reliable, such as Pharma QA/QC, Environmental, Industrial, Food Safety and Healthcare.
The Thermo Fisher Scientific CMD portfolio covers a broad range of analytical instruments, consumables and services.
Liquid Chromatography, (U)HPLC
Ion Chromatography, (IC)
Trace Elemental Analysis (ICP-OES, ICP MS),
Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS/MS)
What are key tasks of an Account Manager
The Account Manager maintains effective and long-lasting customer relationships, develops opportunities for strategic growth of the account and works collaboratively and effectively to bring premier support and customer experience, making it easier for our customers to do business with Thermo Fisher Scientific.
The account manager is the primary point of contact and provides sales expertise, mentorship and help driving all CMD commercial activities within the account.
The Team
Together with fellow account managers you form an enthusiastic customer focused team that is supported at the technical level by Technical Sales Specialist and Sales Support colleagues.
Responsibilities:
Serve as the lead point of contact for all customer account management matters
Build, expand and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships
Collaborate and coordinate with technical sales and application support to provide the best solution for the customer
Negotiate contracts and close agreements to improve profits
Develop trusted advisor relationships with key accounts and customer partners
Clearly communicate the progress of monthly/quarterly initiatives to internal and external partners
Develop new business with existing clients and identify areas of improvement to meet sales objectives
Forecast, track key account metrics, and prepare reports on account and territory status
Collaborate within sales team to identify and grow opportunities within territory
Assist with challenging client requests or issue customer concerns as needed
Introduces new products and services as available and maintain awareness of market developments
Requirements:
Preferably, proven sales experience in analytical instrument market
Bachelor’s degree in the sciences or equivalent work experience
Commercial attitude, strongly motivated by desire to win new business
Provide right solution to the customer, through collaborative efforts with support colleagues
Demonstrable ability to communicate, present and influence key partners at all levels of an organization
Excellent, listening, negotiating and presentation abilities
Proven track record to juggle multiple projects at a time, while maintaining sharp attention to detail
Ability to meet deadlines
Strong verbal and writing communication skills, Dutch and English
Ability to explain and sell the technical aspects of Thermo Fisher Scientific’s product portfolio
Ability to travel to customer locations up to 80%, may include overnight travel
