The Military DoD SkillBridge program is an opportunity for Service members to gain valuable civilian work experience through specific industry training, apprenticeships, or internships during the last 180 days of service. SkillBridge connects Service members with industry partners in real-world job experiences under Dept. of Defense Instruction 1322.29. Separating Service members can be granted up to 180 days of permissive duty to focus solely on training full-time with approved industry partners after unit commander (first O-4/Field Grade commander in chain of command) provides written authorization and approval. GE HealthCare as a Skill Bridge partner offers real-world training and work experience in in-demand fields of work while having the opportunity to evaluate the Service member’s suitability for the work. Military DoD SkillBridge participants are not eligible for compensation from GE HealthCare, as they continue to receive military compensation and benefits as active-duty service members.

Job Description Summary

The Networking IT Field Service Engineer will be part of a team that is responsible for GE HealthCare Patient Care Solutions products and infrastructure. Responsible for driving customer satisfaction through Service Excellence. Significant focus on IT related skills.

Responsibilities

  • Associate degree or equivalent experience.

  • 4+ years of experience servicing electrical equipment with demonstrated experience relative to medical equipment or IT infrastructure products.

  • 1+ year of demonstrated leadership experience

  • Demonstrated experience with P&L along with completion of administrative tasks.

  • Demonstrated experience with Web applications as well as Microsoft suite of products.

  • Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair on assigned equipment.

  • May also perform installation, validation, and maintenance on assigned equipment.

  • Function as co-lead; develop and maintain strong relationships and frequent communications with customers and sales to proactively identify customer needs, ensure resolution, proper follow-up, and ongoing customer satisfaction.

  • Prioritize service, assign personnel, distribution of work, and resource allocation.

  • Responsible for prompt administrative responsibilities such as maintaining customer service logs and internal service records in a timely manner, ordering repair parts, and managing cycle times.

  • Maintain parts inventory and manage vendor service as needed.

  • Provide instruction to personnel on equipment operation, diagnostics, effective use, and repair.
