Job Description Summary

Coach, drive and manage Lean behaviors, principles, and tools by partnering with Operating Leaders in business management roles (e.g. GM General manager of Business Unit, or Executive Lead of a Function). Drive cultural transformation resulting in step-change in operational business metrics. May also be roles that are part of Corporate or Business Unit Kaizen Promotion Offices (KPO).

Essential Responsibilities

As the Regional Business Operations & Lean Manager you will:

Commit to be a servant leader, humble listener, team worker, trainer and coach.

Mange the operationalization of the Lean Initiatives for the business in the Pole

  • Business Kaizen Action plan execution across the Pole

  • Sustainment of improvements

  • Help ensuring alignment on prioritization between the business and the Pole

Build Lean Capabilities across the Pole

  • Train and Coach Pole employees on fundamentals of Lean (Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, Flow, Problem Solving, Standard Work, Daily Management, Leader Standard Work, Action Planning, Hoshin Kanri, 5S+1, Visual Management etc)

  • Develop Lean Coaches to empower the business to lead Problem Solving & Kaizens for Lean Improvements

  • Maintain data base of employees trained on Lean Tools

  • Coach Business Lean Leadership Program Participants from Pole to help develop and implement their Learning Development Plans

  • Help build Continuous Improvement culture by influencing stakeholders to adopt Lean mindset

Build Process Capabilities across the Pole

  • Develop Kaizen Calendar and run the rhythm to keep it updated

  • Follow up on open actions in Kaizen Calendar with the stakeholders to ensure timely completion

  • Lead and run 3-5 days Kaizen events and ensure completion of Kaizen Newspaper actions to ensure sustainment

  • Transform the Value Stream to bring performance change in KPI

  • Lead Problem solving and coach teams to ensure completions of actions and ensure sustainment

  • Coach teams and help them run Daily Management at different Tiers each week.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college or equivalent knowledge.

  • Min 10 years of experience in Project Operations, Quality, Commercial Excellence or Continuous Improvement with proven track record of results using Lean methodologies.

  • Experience in leading Kaizen , driving problem solving and doing daily management.

  • Lean Six Sigma Certification.

  • Strong problem-solving skills, experience of managing cross-functional projects and data analytics.

  • Proven to be effective driving outcomes in large, matrixed organizations – understands how to navigate geographies, cultures, relationships, etc. Can drive work around the world because they are accountable, trustworthy, credible, committed, and intellectually agile

  • Change agent, able to make the case for Lean and demonstrate immediate impact

  • Highly collaborative person, comfortable with conflict and debate normally associated with change

  • Critical thinker with the ability to bring others along, even those with conflicting priorities

  • Ability to drive process simplification and influence others with effective communication
