GE Aerospace Sr. Supplier Quality Engineer in Remote, Illinois

The Senior Supplier Quality Engineer will be responsible for driving quality for assigned suppliers, including quality plan implementation. You will select suppliers through qualification processes, own supplier results, drive improvements utilizing supplier scorecards, own supplier audits, ensure compliance, and drive improvement plans where needed. You should have in-depth knowledge of quality management best practices and have working knowledge of competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market.

This role is eligible for remote work - preference in the states listed that are near major GE Aerospace suppliers: CA, CO, IL, IN, KY, MA, MI, OH, OR, SC, & WA.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Manage supplier qualifications, action plans, audits, performance monitoring, and assisting key suppliers towards industrial standards of excellence

  • Drive root cause and corrective action plans across suppliers

  • Identify process improvements needed to drive better first time yield resulting in improved delivery

  • Collaborate with Design and Manufacturing Engineers on design for manufacturability improving producibility

  • Identifying gaps in quality system driving corrective actions needed to closure

  • Balance both tactical execution with strategic initiatives necessary to drive cost reduction projects

  • Present product / program strategies, roadmaps, risks and recommendations to senior leaders

  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience

  • Utilize technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations

  • Travel from 25% - 50% required

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Quality Systems, Quality Engineering, Supplier Quality or Supply Chain Manufacturing)

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience inQuality Systems, Quality Engineering, Supplier Quality or Supply Chain Manufacturing

Desired Characteristics

  • Shop Floor Quality or Manufacturing experience

  • Experience working in Investment Casting manufacturing process

  • Experience with Airfoils Castings

  • Engineering degree from an accredited university or college preferred

  • Basic understanding of Quality Management System (policies, procedures, and support tools / systems)

  • Solid understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems

  • Lean Six Sigma trained

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and support multiple projects simultaneously

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to influence others and lead small teams

The base pay range for this position is 115,000.00 - 130,000.00. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/ commission based on the plan. This posting is expected to close on November 27, 2024.
