Job Description Summary

The Repair & Installation Deployment & Operations Leader will lead and support the development and deployment of new repairs and tooling for our global Onshore Wind Installation & Services Businesses. They will also lead Major Component Upgrades (MCU) and Installation lean efforts for new and existing processes/capabilities to improve Safety Quality Delivery & Cost.

Essential Responsibilities

As the Repair & Installation Deployment & Operations Leader, you will:

  • Act as the primary liaison between the Global Projects & Services (Operations, Tooling Centers, EHS) and Wind Engineering (Repair & Installation Technology, Product Engineering, FPM) in the areas of tool / repair developments & deployment.

  • Lead global validations & Beta Period of tooling/process products by working with Repair & Installation Engineering, Platform Leaders, Field Engineering, EHS and etc. to ensure timely and realistic trials; this will include the establishment of validation teams, identification of site / location, logistics, work instructions, execution and data collection / report outs

  • Lead and complete action plans following tool/process validations as well as lead continuous improvements as new feedback are received to meet all CTQs

  • Establish global training requirements & strategy for new tool / repair products; this will include building a curriculum, creating training levels, leading training sessions globally, & any additional knowledge transfer of use, handling, and maintenance of new tool / repair products.

  • Lead full operational deployment to include cost/benefit alignment, procurement planning, logistics requirements, team requisites, maintenance/spare part protocols/execution plans, creation/execution of training plans and optimized regional operation strategies for the product/process.

  • Provide technical direction when required to include off hour remote and on-site support when technical uncertainties and/or as emergent issues arise to ensure the tasks can be completed safely, with quality, and within the standards

  • Lead continuous improvement/lean efforts for new and existing capabilities to include creation of detailed PSRs, leading Kaizens, and developing/deploying new standards to improve SQDC

  • Lead and self-develop new processes/repairs solutions and deploy globally

  • Create & Lead tollgate reviews including the establishment of stakeholders/approvers, business case, effort, program scope, limits & constraints, product cost targets, risks, approvals, and action/follow-up plans

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field from an accredited university or college (OR a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of Installation or Repair Field Engineering experience)

  • Ability and willingness to travel 50% of the time, which includes international travel and must comply with all relevant company travel and tax policies

Desired Characteristics

  • MCU and/or Installation field execution experience

  • Liftra Self Hoisting Crane execution experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university

  • REDP (Renewable Energy Development Program), RELP (Renewable Energy Leadership Program), FEP (Field Engineering Program) graduate (GE Employee's only)

  • Repair or Installation Engineering experience

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.

  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.

  • Established project management skills.

  • Proficiency in technical writing and process documentation

  • Project coordination / Change Management / Influencing / Leadership skills

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Self-starter and able to work with limited supervision

  • Safety conscious

  • Detail orientated

  • Strong analytical skills

  • ​Ability to work across all functions/levels as part of a team

  • Lean, Six Sigma certification or equivalent quality certification

The salary range for this position is $91,400 - $152,300 USD Annual. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this role has variable compensation incentive of 10%.
