Role Summary

The Global Business Data Lead is a critical thinker who provides strategic analytic services to business partners within Global Quality and Operations (GQO), with focused support to the Global Supply Chain Planning functions. This hybrid role, within commutable distance of Deeside, North Wales, creates, maintains, and develops crucial and accurate analytic platforms to ensure business decisions are made to set and achieve key targets. This may require translating complex needs into comprehensive business requirements, as well as Analysing large scale data sets across multiple systems to optimize analytical models globally. Working within the Planning and Forecasting process improvement team and closely to the IM functions, they will collaborate across Business Units and regions to ensure regional and functional alignment, whilst driving continuous improvements.

The role also participates in and implements key business projects that support Company Strategic objectives.

This role is primarily based in our Deeside location. Hybrid working: 1-2 days per week in the office driven by business requirements as Convatec has a flexible approach to office working .

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in and / or lead core, strategic projects that pertain to the digital landscape and overall KPI framework of GQO.

  • Drive continual improvement opportunities pertaining to the quality, accuracy, and efficiency of Supply Chain analytics, reports, dashboards and supporting data within ConvaTec. Promote global alignment of best analytic practices and use of insights.

  • Collaborate across functions to gain accurate and relevant model inputs, in addition to Supply Chain insights. Ensure analytics accurately reflect processes and align with financial functions.

  • Build and maintain end to end Supply Chain data models, across Quality and Operations, that effectively identify and assess key aspects of the Global Supply Chain, in line with GQO and Corporate Strategies.

  • Create business requirement documentation that details business digitalization needs, recommendations and benefits, contributing to delivery plans.

  • Create, deliver and maintain training material to support user leverage of analytics provision

  • Work with the Global Process Owner for Planning and Forecasting, to guide business strategies and decisions, using analytics and experience.

  • Support ad hoc requests for analytics depending on business needs.

Key Requirements

  • Strong knowledge and experience on generating actionable business insights from data analysis, with a good business understanding, particularly within the Supply Chain.

  • Experience or good understanding of Finance and Inventory Reporting

  • Technical data analytical capabilities, including use of Power BI or similar.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Experience and understanding of working in a global environment.

  • Ability to collaborate with key stakeholders across multiple functions and levels of the organization.

  • Outstanding communication and collaboration skills

  • Ability to work within tight deadlines.

  • Details oriented.

  • Experience of Snowflake, SQL, R or Python preferred.

  • Possesses good knowledge of SAP and IBP

  • Knowledge of Financial and Quality systems beneficial.

  • Knowledge of Agile methodology and use of Atlassian beneficial

Qualifications/Education

  • Bachelors/Master’s degree or equivalent experience in a business environment.

  • At least 5 years’ experience of analytics spanning multiple functional areas.

  • Proven track record in managing large sets of cross functional data to create storyboards and recommendations.

  • Project management experience

Position may involve up to 10% of travel primarily in Europe and US.

Special Factors

Role collaborates with multiple functions across the globe, so will need to be mindful of time zones. Standard hours of work are Monday to Friday, on exceptional occasions flexibility may be requested to work on a weekend.
