The Engineering Enablement Foundation Department pillar is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with technical talent to deliver service-oriented capabilities, collaborative learning culture, and fuel high quality continuous software and feature delivery. What YOU will do:

  • You will provide advanced application and infrastructure support for a variety of COTS and non-COTS applications in both a traditional workload and containerized environments.

  • You will support applications and infrastructure in AWS using IaC principles.

  • You will serve as an agile team member on a cross-functional team. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, operating system support, application support, monitoring/alarming, enhancing application performance, and adhering to corporate security compliance standards.

  • You will interface with internal Collins customers to understand their support needs and provide reliable applications for our engineering community.

Qualifications you must have:

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. RTX will not offer sponsorship for this position.

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience.

  • Experience with Cloud Computing.

  • Experience with Linux.

  • Experience with containers.

Skills We Value:

  • Operating System Proficiency: Experience with Linux and Windows operating systems in a traditional workload and containerized environment

  • Cloud Services Expertise: Experience with AWS scripting (Cloud Formation or Terraform), Kubernetes

  • Database Management: Practical knowledge of MySQL databases, including setup, management, and troubleshooting.

  • Project Management Tools: Experience using and administrating the Atlassian Suite, GitLab

  • Monitoring/Alarming Solutions: Experience with monitoring and alarming solutions such as Zabbix, OpenSearch, Grafana, and Datadog.

  • DevSecOps: Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and tools, including continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, security automation, and infrastructure as code (IaC).
