What You’ll Get to Do:

You will provide senior level acquisition support and assistance in coordination and oversight of acquisition activities that are high complexity for procuring equipment, materials, and services in support of the Government Publishing Office (GPO) Acquisition Services Division (AS).

The United States Government Publishing Office (GPO) Acquisition Services (AS) provides a wide range of acquisition services that enable GPO to accomplish the mission of keeping America informed.

The U.S. Government Publishing Office (GPO) is the Federal Government’s Legislative Agency and is the official, digital, secure resource for producing, procuring, cataloging, indexing, authenticating, disseminating, and preserving the official information products of the U.S. Government.

The Acquisition Services is a department or a business unit within GPO with the mission to provide acquisition, procurement and leasing support to GPO. This support includes acquisitions for materials, supplies, services, some construction services, some building construction and alteration, facility operation and maintenance, information technology, and other supplies and services.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide senior-level acquisition policy support with a focus on high-complexity projects

  • Provide strategic support for developing, implementing, and maintaining USG and GPO’s contract policies and procedures

  • Collaborate with cross-functional GPO teams and Business Units, ensuring alignment with legal and regulatory requirements and fostering a culture of compliance and efficiency in contract management

  • Obtain, research, provide, and analyze detailed and complex contracting information, track, organize, and analyze procurement information and present in in a coherent, logical and clear manner

  • Create presentations and data-enriched reports, providing recommendations and findings

  • Work effectively and collaboratively with contracts specialists, contracting officers, legal and other business units’ teams in a demanding and fast evolving work environment

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

*Note: This role allows you to work remotely; however, it requires living in the Washington, D.C. Metro Area.*

  • BA or BS degree in a business related field, management or legal field

  • Twenty (20) years of direct procurement experience in federal government and/or the private sector

  • Ten (10) the most recent years of practical experience with expertise in creating policy documents, updating existing policies and creating template

  • Clearance: Public trust

  • Proven practical knowledge and excellence of applying the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and other USG policies

  • Experience working with GSA Schedules, GWACS, and MA IDIQs

  • Demonstrated understanding and practical experience of acquisition management principles throughout the full project lifecycle (pre-award to closure)

  • Demonstrated experience in managing multiple contract types for supplies and services (e.g. FFP/LOE, T&M, FFP, CPFF, CPIF, CPAF)

  • Demonstrated Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and working effectively in a team environment

  • Ability to anticipate and establish paths to avoid problems and manage administrative processes on behalf of management

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively with teams in a demanding work environment. Proven ability to establish positive and productive working relationships at all levels, both internal and external

  • Proven ability to set a positive example for productive teamwork and be proactive in mitigating any misunderstandings, expand working relationships and ability to effectively influence relationships for a positive productive outcome

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Master’s Degree in a business-related field, management or legal field, and a minimum of twenty-five (25) years of direct procurement experience in federal government and/or private sector in contract management with a focus on policy development and implementation (minimum of last ten (10) years)

  • Certification: Certified Procurement Professional (CPP) or similar certification in government procurement practices (e.g., FAC Professional or FAC C III or equivalent)

  • Clearance: Secret security clearance

  • Practical knowledge of data analytics and advance knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Power BI

Since this position can be worked in more than one location, the range shown is the national average for the position.

The proposed salary range for this position is:

$86,800-$191,000
