Moonlight Companies Plant Assistant Manager - Moonlight P7 in Reedley, California
Position Summary:
The Plant Assistant Manager will ensure the packinghouse operates efficiently, safely, productively, by also developing and executing cost-effective production plans that maximize output and efficiency, meet, and exceed company goals all while ensuring the company continues being profitable and producing the best quality fruit.
Leadership requirements:
Exceptional team building and leadership skills
Thorough understanding of management and financial practices in all areas and
phases of plant operations
Creates and develops new methods, operations procedures, and systems in
production management and team management to improve efficiency and
performance and ensure effective and consistent support and execution.
Identifies training needs and ensures proper training is developed and
implemented
Duties and Responsibilities include, but not limited to the following:
Maintains a sanitary, safe and very clean facility.
Ensures the food safety and sanitation programs are being followed.
Maintains optimum operations by assigning workers and creating and keeping work and
production schedules.
Ensures proper inventory levels are maintained to meet packing processes.
Establishes operational schedules and processes to ensure that production and
quality of products meets specifications.
Maintains a clean and organized production process to improve efficiency and enhance
productivity.
Monitors and improves production cost to determine trends and areas of improvement.
Reviews fruit and product to ensure the proper quality control standards are consistent and appearance to
produce products are meeting and exceeding company standards and consumer expectations.
Monitors operations and maintenance expenses and research ways to reduce costs while
maintaining product quality and preventing downtime.
Analyzes workforce requirements.
Interviews, hires and maintains a positive team of talent to encourage an environment that is
conducive to growth and organizational development.
Actively works with the Human Resources and Safety in policy development, employee
Safety, employee development issues, and employee motivation.
Monitors and ensures the workplace is safe, employees adherence to policies, safety
standards, and good manufacturing practices.
Oversees the development and implementation of companywide policies and procedures.
Identifies areas for improvement and looks for ways to minimize costs in all aspects of the
operations.
Works in investigations and root cause analysis for non-compliances or other issues
identified.
Conducts performance evaluations and provides coaching and guidance to all operations
employees
Promotes a positive work environment.
Ensures the facility is properly maintained, clean and presentable at all times.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural or management business or related 5+ years of relevant experience, preferably in packing operations.
Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
Language:
Bilingual in English and Spanish
Skills
:
Proven managerial or supervisory experience in a plant setting
Adequate knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning,
leadership, resource allocation)
Knowledge of safety, sanitation, quality, productivity, and inventory processes
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
Working schedule:
Monday - Saturday and some Sundays during the peak season.
40+ hours per week
This position may encompass other duties than the specified duties listed above. If necessary, alternative duties can be assigned at the discretion of the direct supervisor.
Pay Range (Low $70,000 to Max $90,000 year) Salary.
