Job Description
We are seeking a hands-on Software Development Engineer to design and build distributed system software for Exadata Database Machine and Storage Server ( http://www.oracle.com/database/exadata.html ), which is one of the most successful products in Oracle’s history. Exadata Database Machine provides a fully integrated and optimized engineered system for running Oracle databases with the best performance, scalability and high availability for data warehousing, OLTP and consolidated workloads. Our team recently launched Exadata Exascale, the World’s Only Intelligent Data Architecture for the Cloud. The candidate will have the opportunity to work on exciting new projects in the Exadata family.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
Developing core software features in Oracle Exadata Database Machine and Exadata Exascale to enable the best performance, scalability and high availability of the system to be used for on-premise data centers, cloud and multi-cloud.
Designing and implementing smart and sophisticated software algorithms to promptly recover and failover from hardware failures under all conditions to achieve overall system high availability and stability with minimal performance impact.
Staying ahead of the technology curve by working on the latest and greatest technology breakthrough in key computing areas, such as processors, networking, flash and disk storage, etc, for future generations of Exadata products.
Requirements:
Degree or equivalent experience level: Bachelors/Masters/PhD
Majors: Computer Science/Electrical Engineering
C/C++ expertise
Knowledge of distributed systems, networks, operating systems, computer architecture, database systems and storage services.

US: Hiring Range: from $94,200 to $223,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
