The Physician Assistant delivers primary health care to adults by assessing physical and psychosocial conditions, such as acute or chronic illness or injuries, and providing medical consultation and treatment under physician supervision. PA practice is per California Physician Assistant regulations and the delegation of service agreement between PA(s) and the supervising physician(s).
Ensures patient safety by performing preoperative evaluations and examinations for up to 8 scheduled procedures daily. As well as perform post-operative evaluations as needed.
Round on all patients, either admitted to our service or being consulted on. Adjust careplan as needed throughout the day for each patient.
Point of contact for patient’s nurse throughout the day.
Evaluate and admit Emergency Room patients
Admit and treat patient’s directly sent to hospital for our practice.
Discharge all procedural patients as well as patients admitted to our service.
Order and review appropriate lab work, EKG’s and imaging for each patient to aid in appropriate care for the patient.
Create, update and enter appropriate orders and order sets for planned and emergency procedures.
Antiarrhythmic drug monitoring.
Maintain current subject matter expertise and be able to discuss with patient and patient family all procedures including: all ablations, cardiac catheterizations and device implantations.
Current license to practice in the state of California as an PA-C
DEA and Furnishing License
2 years related clinical experience
Experience with managing patients with chronic diseases
