IMVU Corporate Counsel in Redwood City, California

Corporate Counsel Redwood City, CA At Together Labs, we are looking for a business-friendly and highly collaborative Corporate Counsel to provide pragmatic and creative solutions to our business teams. As a versatile person that thrives in an entrepreneurial environment, you embrace the opportunity to not only partner with all corporate functions but also contribute to the company’s legal strategy across all dimensions alongside the Head of Legal. You’re comfortable with a day that includes addressing business operations, product counseling, contract negotiation, technology and marketing, regulatory risks assessment and solution implementation, - both to advise on critical strategic and legal matters. In this role, you will... • Draft and negotiate a broad range of agreements, including services, vendors, collaboration, advertising, marketing, license, technology, and other commercial or IP agreements • Collaborate with and guide product, engineering, marketing, and other teams in the product life cycle, including advising on product features, owning terms and policies, and reviewing public statements, • Manage legal actions related to trademark, patent, regulatory compliance and other corporate matters aided by outside legal counsel • Identify and evaluate business and legal risks, and find creative ways to mitigate them while achieving business goals • Train and educate colleagues on legal and compliance issues • Ownership of the management of internal legal records and documents, and assist with other objectives of the legal department Requirements: • High degree of personal integrity • Sense of humor, strong work ethic and positive attitude • J.D. from a top tier law school; licensed in good standing in California • 5+ years of post-bar admission experience, including experience within an in-house legal department • Self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit and an energetic do-what-it-takes attitude • The temperament and drive to quickly make impactful decisions in collaboration with stakeholders • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Ability to produce high quality work product with limited oversight • Organizational skills and versatility to manage multiple matters simultaneously • Must haves: experience handling data privacy (including CCPA, GDPR, COPPA, other privacy laws and regulations) and cybersecurity issues, and negotiating commercial agreements • Nice to haves: experience with money transmission, DMCA, trademarks, patents, or employment laws ABOUT US Together Labs innovates technologies that empower people worldwide to connect, create and earn in virtual worlds.
