Summary The incumbent ensures the implementation of doctrines related to effective force structure management throughout the US Army Space and Missile Defense Center (SMDC) community. The position is located in Redstone Arsenal, AL. This is a Term position Not to Exceed 3 years; however, it may be extended beyond six years up to 8 years. Responsibilities Conducts various types of studies such as reviews, surveys, force structure, budget and manpower staffing standards. Assists with the conduct of force structure and management studies which will include technical or nontechnical functions in varying organizations. Participates in or oversees studies which analyze mission and functions, determines validity, analyzes workload requirements of organizations, force structure functional areas or activities. Implements programs related to force structure management and budget management. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes overseeing policy and program actions such as cataloging and tracking of program taskings, analyzing impact of directives on the organization, issuing instructions to commands on adopted administrative policy, briefing leadership on incoming and outgoing projects or programs, or anticipating problems for resolution to ensure program or mission accomplishment. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (NH-02/GS-11). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and Management Oral Communication Organizational Awareness Project Management Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (NH-02/GS-11). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
