Summary This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for AcqDemo Business and Technical Management Career Path (NH) to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This Logistics Management Specialist position is assigned to Program Executive Office (PEO) Soldier, Project Manager Soldier Survivability, Product Manager Air Warrior, located at Redstone Arsenal, AL. Responsibilities Serve as a Logistics Management Specialist concerned with directing, developing, and performing logistics management operations that involve planning, coordinating, and evaluating the execution of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS). Responsible for cradle to grave intensive logistics management to support complex, major weapon systems from concept through field deployment. Perform the full range of planning, liaison, contract monitoring, equipment and organizational interface, control of other government elements supporting the effort and logistics phases of field exercises and tests. Support includes the management and interface with logistics element managers, contract support services, training facilities, Integrated Logistics Support Management organizations. Establishes or ensures the establishment of ILS requirements of acquisition documents and contracts. Monitors the status and quality of ILS development services and products. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience is defined as:1) Developing product support strategies and/or packages for materiel acquisition programs; 2) Managing logistics products/documents including the lifecycle sustainment plan that documents the sustainment strategy for materiel acquisition programs; and 3) Monitoring the implementation of a comprehensive logistics program.This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (NH-02 or GS-11). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Additional Information Direct deposit of pay is required. This is a Career Program (CP) 17 - Material Maintenance Management position. Multiple positions may be filled from this announcement. Salary includes applicable locality pay or Local Market Supplement. Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government interest. Position is Telework eligible, as determined by agency policy. This is a DoD Demonstration Project position. Under the Defense Authorization Act, personnel management demonstration programs are operating in numerous Army activities and various other organizations supported by Army civilian personnel centers. Under the streamlined personnel operations for demonstration projects, the familiar 15 General Schedule grade structure is replaced with broad pay bands that typically encompass a range of grades. For example, acquisition jobs in level NH-III of broad banding encompass the traditional GS-12 through GS-13 grades. Other initiatives under the demonstration projects include simplified classification, streamlined hiring process, and expanded developmental opportunities.
