Robert Half Sr. Customer Service Representative in Redondo Beach, California

Description

Our LAX Air Gateway office is seeking an Air Import Agent. This role is for an individual with excellent communication and customer service skills. This individual will multi-task and prioritize duties in a fast-paced environment while providing best-in-class customer service. The Agent evaluates branch’s needs and coordinates freight transfers accordingly, ensuring branch transit expectations and customer deadlines are met.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand each branch’s customers and their unique needs, in order to meet expectations on a daily basis

  • Respond to branch/customer inquiries and follow-up to ensure issue resolution

  • Collaborate with support staff, overseas offices and other third parties to ensure efficiency, continued exemplary customer service, and relationship development

  • Focused on getting the job done, but being flexible to meet individual branch/customer needs when communicated

  • Understand and input applicable financial components of shipments for proper billing of customers

  • Handle existing shipments in proprietary system, editing and updating shipments which will be visible by parties overseas and customers online

  • Prepare and review routine reports

  • Provide support (reporting, documentation, etc.) to Sales Executives and Account Managers as they prepare for business reviews

  • Ensure adherence to branch SOPs, US Customs regulations, and company standards

  • Act as a resource to explain the import arrival and transfer process to branch representatives

  • Work with partner airline carriers to book space and negotiate rates

  • Plan and instruct warehouse to build Airline ULDs

  • Create and maintain consolidation schedules

    Requirements

Required shift is Friday - Tuesday AM Shift

Bachelor’s degree preferred, High school diploma or GED required

Minimum 1-3 years of Air Freight experience required

Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-driven office environment

Excellent verbal & written communication skills and phone etiquette

Positive outlook and attitude at all times (face to face, email, phone, etc)

Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively

Exceptional customer service skills and meticulous follow up
