MICROSOFT CORP Technical Support Engineering in Redmond, Washington

Support and troubleshoot issues related to Microsoft technologies. Review complex issues (e.g. multiple components of a product), system administration issues, or network concerns. Identifies potential technology defects and escalates to resolve. Applies broad knowledge of automated tools being used across other technologies and products and provides feedback for tool improvement. Contacts customers to understand technical issues and utilizes troubleshooting tools to help resolve customer issues. Resolve customer technical issues through problem solving, collaboration, and research and documents technical work and research. Provide feedback to senior engineers or serviceability team on functionality of products. Collaborate with stakeholders to eliminate technical barriers, provide proactive advice, contribute to product quality and enhancements, and resolve customer issues. Serve as trusted advisor or subject matter expert and leverage expertise to maximize functionality of Microsoft technologies. Telecommuting permitted up to 100% from any location in the U.S.

Requirements:

  • EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: Master's degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Computer/Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
  • EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT: Three (3) years of experience implementing the evolution of network access and providing technical support and resolving technical issues.
  • SPECIFIC SKILLS REQUIREMENTS: Must include at least 24 months experience in: Azure; Azure Services; Firewall; Network Troubleshooting; Routing & Switching; and education or experience in Cloud Networking.

Pay Range and Benefits Information: The offered base pay range for this specific position (TSKBE17518), based in Redmond, WA (but telecommuting permitted 100% from any location in the U.S.), is $129,854 to $159,854.

 

Microsoft has different base pay ranges for different work locations within the United States, which allows us to pay employees competitively and consistently in different geographic markets. Individual base pay depends on various factors, in addition to primary work location, such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. Base pay ranges are reviewed and typically updated each year. Offers are made within the base pay range applicable at the time. 

 

At Microsoft certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including merit increases, annual bonus, and stock. These awards are allocated based on individual performance. In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee's role.
