Meta Software Engineering Manager, AI Compiler in Redmond, Washington

We are looking for a Software Engineering Manager to support a team of compiler/ML frameworks engineers and drive the development of a compiler and runtime toolchain for state-of-the-art deep learning hardware components optimized for AR/VR systems. The successful candidate will be part of our efforts to build a robust, optimizing software development kit (SDK) for our custom ML accelerator, and will be part of a team that includes compiler, machine learning algorithms and software, firmware, and ASIC experts.

Required Skills:

Software Engineering Manager, AI Compiler Responsibilities:

  1. Grow a team of domain experts in ML compilation for deep learning hardware acceleration targets.

  2. Communicate, collaborate, and build relationships with clients and peer teams to facilitate cross-functional projects.

  3. Operate strategically and tactically. Develop vision, strategy, and help set direction for the team.

  4. Remain up to date with ongoing software development activities in the team, help work through technical challenges, and be involved in design decisions.

  5. Build a collaborative, high-performing team culture focused on delivering outcomes against aggressive goals.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelors or above in Computer Science or Electronics Engineering or an equivalent field

  2. Experience with software toolchain development for custom hardware, such as GPUs, AI accelerators, or other hardware accelerators

  3. 2+ years of experience in leading a team of software engineers of varied skill levels

  4. Experience with cross-functional collaboration with hardware or AI framework teams

  5. Knowledge of computer algorithms and experience crossing multi-disciplinary boundaries to drive optimal system solutions

  6. Experience with machine-code generation / compiler back-ends

  1. Masters or above in Computer Science or Electronics Engineering or an equivalent field

  2. Experience in accelerating libraries on AI hardware, similar to cuBLAS, cuDNN, CUTLASS, HIP, ROCm, etc.

  3. Experience working on and contributing to an active compiler toolchain codebase, such as LLVM, MLIR, GCC, MSVC, Glow

  4. Experience in deep learning algorithms and techniques, e.g., convolutional neural networks, recurrent networks, LLMs, etc.

  5. Experience with a mainstream machine-learning framework, e.g. PyTorch, Tensorflow or Caffe

Public Compensation:

$177,000/year to $251,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
