We are looking for a Senior Technical Program Manager to drive step-function improvements in Azure’s hardware security posture. Responsibilities

  • Building deep security partnerships with our Hardware suppliers across the globe to drive Azure’s security requirements & culture. Educating them about improving security posture and ensuring they launch and maintain products with a high security bar.

  • Act as a General Contractor with Azure’s cross-functional teams to define, maintain and execute on our Hardware security roadmaps, and strategy.

  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert on emerging low-level threats that can affect cloud services. This includes partnering with security researchers and other security teams for proactive security analysis.

  • Drive security assurance practices such as threat modelling, fuzzing, static and analysis to track security assessments and resolving them internally within Azure and externally with our supplier base

  • Evangelize security investments and measure progress across the board by building metrics and reporting structures. Display passion for hardware security

Qualifications

Required/minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years experience in technical program management

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 2+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

  • 2+ years of information security experience OR cloud hardware & firmware experience.

Other Requirements

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 1+ year(s) of experience reading and/or writing code (e.g., sample documentation, product demos).

  • 6+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

  • Understand hardware functions, usage, interaction with other component such as the OS, & hypervisors.

  • Understand security fundamentals such as SDL, Threat Modelling, vulnerabilities assessment and the ability to assess risk and partner with engineering teams to drive remediation plans Hands on experience working on reporting, bug tracking, triaging, and SCRUMs Good understanding of encryption, security protocols, HW communication APIs, Operating Systems including Linux and Windows Proven competency in cross-team collaboration, drive for results, written and verbal communications, and executive presence A desire to learn-it-all, while fostering an inclusive environment.

  • Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to “cut through the noise” using data-driven decisions. Growth Mindset – a desire to learn, improve, and show persistence in the face of setbacks.

Technical Program Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.
