Microsoft Corporation Senior Product Designer in Redmond, Washington
The Windows and Devices Design organization is seeking a Senior Product Designer to join our XR (Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), Mixed Reality (MR)) team. In this role, you will create innovative, user-centric experiences that push the boundaries of what is possible in the spatial computing space. You will help define the next evolution of spatial productivity, shaping the future of Microsoft's XR experiences within the Windows ecosystem.
As part of a dynamic, cross-disciplinary team, you will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to design and refine immersive experiences that are both functional and visually compelling. This role requires a solid foundation in spatial and 3D thinking to craft intuitive, next-gen interactions for spatial experiences.

Responsibilities
Collaborate with designers, product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to define and deliver on the product vision for XR experiences.
Design intuitive and immersive user interfaces and interactions tailored for spatial environments, with a focus on multi modal interaction best practices.
Create wireframes, prototypes, and detailed visual designs that effectively communicate design ideas and user flows.
Work closely with developers to ensure the design vision is executed faithfully and efficiently.
Contribute to the development of design systems and best practices that support scalability and consistency across XR and our broader portfolio of products.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND 5+ years experience working in product or service design
OR Master's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND 4+ years experience working in product or service design
OR equivalent experience (e.g., demonstrated experience working in product or service design or using design thinking to solve problems).
Other Requirements
Candidates must be able to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements that are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check : This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications
4+ years of experience in product design, with a focus on XR or related fields.
Portfolio showcasing experience in designing immersive experiences and interactions for XR platforms.
Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, and Adobe suite.
Experience using prototyping tools for XR, such as Shapes XR, Bezi, or similar, to rapidly visualize and iterate on spatial experiences.
Communication skills and the ability to articulate design decisions effectively.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Familiarity with 3D creative tools like Blender, Cinema 4D, or similar.
Unity experience is a plus.
Product Design IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.
