Amazon Senior Corporate Counsel, Project Kuiper, Devices Legal in Redmond, Washington
Description
Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.
We are looking for an exceptional attorney to join the legal team supporting Project Kuiper. You will be a leader on the legal team responsible for counseling our business operations, product, and engineering teams on a wide range of issues across both our consumer and enterprise businesses. This role will lead product counseling and commercial legal support globally for strategic initiatives related to our digital customer experience, including payments, pricing, currency restrictions, billing, invoicing, and new digital feature launches. You will work directly with the business in negotiating commercial transactions, will distill complex regulatory regimes into clear requirements for compliance and business teams, and will build processes that address risk and allow the business flexibility and freedom to move quickly.
Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
The position can be based in Arlington, VA, or Redmond, WA.
Basic Qualifications
10+ years of legal experience
Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent
Experience in technology and commercial transactions or businesses
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working closely with and advising senior executives of an organization or equivalent
Experience working independently and directly with all levels of legal and business partners or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $164,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $272,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
