Microsoft Corporation Senior Business Manager in Redmond, Washington

Azure Hardware Systems & Infrastructure (AHSI) executive office is seeking a Senior Business Manager . In this role, you’ll collaborate across AHSI teams to manage AHSI’s system of accountability and drive the scaling of business operations, supporting Azure’s growth.

In this role, you’ll collaborate across AHSI teams to manage AHSI’s system of accountability and drive the scaling of business operations, supporting Azure’s growth. You’ll lead the planning and execution of organizational OKRs, ensuring alignment and action to achieve target results. Additionally, you will oversee financial and HC management across a diverse investment portfolio, developing processes and ROBs to streamline operations.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic alignment and system of accountability : Drives accountability by leading the planning and execution of AHSI level OKRs. Ensure AHSI level OKRs are aligned to AHSI strategic priorities. Review performance and execution progress, engaging stakeholders to achieve results. Creates clarity in ambiguous situations to facilitate and drive prioritization and decision making across AHSI.

  • Performance insights and risk management : collect and evaluate key results status, monitor progress and identify program risks and mitigation plans. Identifies actions that can be taken to course-correct and drive results. Synthesizes information into actionable insights that inform business decisions and influence the leadership team.

  • Rhythm of Business (ROB) : Leads the OKR ROB during planning and execution to ensure effective communication and response cadence among participants and stakeholders. Facilitate cross-team collaboration to ensure all key deliverables and ownership are fully aligned to support AHSI business and program objectives.

  • Financial planning and forecasting : Leverages knowledge of organizational strategy and investment priority to design and develop budget and forecast plan across complex portfolio. Partners with leadership to develop forecasting plans and align on headcount and budget strategies. Collaborates with Finance to approve budgets and develops metrics for budgeting and forecasting. Anticipates business challenges based on forecasts and coordinates future resource needs with the Procurement team.

  • Project management : Drives cross-team projects to meet the changing business environment and manages complex business needs. Engages in project management or may act as a project/program manager to ensure organization-wide implementation of strategic efforts that require hands-on coordination across multiple functional disciplines and business organizations.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field (e.g., Liberal Arts, Business Administration, Management, Computer Science) AND 4+ years experience in financial management, business planning, operations management, strategy, project management, human resources, or business-related roles

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 3+ years of experience in business planning, operations management, financial management, strategy, project management, or business-related roles Or equivalent experience.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field (e.g., Liberal Arts, Business Administration, Management, Computer Science) AND 6+ years experience in financial management, business planning, operations management, strategy, project management, human resources, or business-related roles

  • OR Master's Degree in relevant field (e.g., Liberal Arts, Business Administration, Management, Computer Science) AND 3+ years experience in financial management, business planning, operations management, strategy, project management, human resources, or business-related role

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field (e.g., liberal arts, business administration, management, computer science)

  • 6+ years of experience in business planning, operations management, financial management, strategy, project management, or business-related roles. Or equivalent experience.

  • Experience with cross-organizational / cross-group development spanning multiple organizational structures.

  • Experience in hardware or supply chain management

  • A high tolerance for ambiguity and change.

  • Effective design and problem-solving skills.

  • Effective communications skills.

Business Program Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $94,600 - $183,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $122,000 - $200,500 per year.
