As a Product Manager II in Multimedia (MM) Search Infrastructure, a key part of your role will be to build the infrastructure powering our world-class image and video search and to ensure it evolves to accommodate new use cases; especially ones using multimedia for RAG. You will work closely with different teams to deliver a highly reliable and usable infrastructure for Multimedia search and build partnerships with Bing-wide platform & infrastructure teams to ensure MM stack is most secure, efficient, comprehensive, reliable, and scalable. You will also build KPIs and metrics to measure the reliability/usability of our infrastructure, and the agility/efficiency of the team. In addition, you will analyze the tools portfolio for MM team and improve on it to meet tooling needs for efficient day-to-day operation that aligns with our business standards. Responsibilities

  • You will identify unmet or unknown needs, market opportunities, gaps in the implementation of a group of existing features or feature areas via conducting different analyses and/or organizing scenario walkthroughs to scope the impact of a problem, establish clarity of the root causes, define solution options, create a feature set, and own the roadmap/milestones of a group of features or feature areas.

  • You will partner with others to identify data-informed, short-term investment opportunities and collaborate with partners to garner support for that feature group. You will also collaborate with others in orchestrating and integrating efforts for the development and implementation process of a group of features or feature areas.

  • You will strive to build connections and relationships within the product family and identify potential compatibility issues between different features or interoperability challenges between different components.

  • You will drive and track success criteria of a feature group and partner with others to collect performance metrics and form hypotheses to incrementally improve product development in specific areas.

  • You will stay abreast of governance programs and processes and demonstrate an understanding of specific performance requirements and standards that must be met throughout the development lifecycle.

  • You will present at Executive Briefing Centers and large events, and act as a technical advisor to educate and evangelize the group of feature/feature areas.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 2+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 1+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects with a software product cycle, either functioning as a product/program manager to drive features from initial planning, design, to implementation and release, or working as a software developer.

  • 1+ year(s) of experience in Information Retrieval, Big Data, Machine/Deep Learning, Natural Language Processing, Data Mining, AI or equivalent education.

  • 1+ years experience collaborating with multiple partners and customers and translating requirements into a product vision and roadmap.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years of experience in product/service/project/program management or software development.

  • OR eqivalent experience.

  • 2+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects with a software product cycle, either functioning as a product/program manager to drive features from initial planning, design, to implementation and release, or working as a software developer.

  • Search industry experience.

  • Experience with Prompt Engineering, SQL, and/or Python.

  • Experience with oral and written communication skills in the context of developing features to support multiple partners and customers.

Product Management IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $98,300 - $193,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $127,200 - $208,800 per year.
