Entra Edge & Quality Services and Programs seeks a Principal Technical Program Management Manager to help our teams tackle some of our most complex problems. You will manage a team of Technical Program Managers (TPM). You and your team will create and sustain effective partnerships across our business and beyond, running programs that intersect key corporate functions like Finance and Legal. Programs you own improve our engineering processes – you will make it better to be an engineer in Microsoft Entra. You will make it more efficient to operate hyperscale infrastructure running on millions of cloud instances globally. To do this you and your team must be experts in cloud infrastructure and operating mission-critical services – Identity is integral to the technology experience of billions of people around the world.

Responsibilities
Leadership and Team Management:
Model, coach, and care for a team of TPMs, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement in alignment with Microsoft culture , values , and leadership principles.
Attract, retain, and develop great talent, investing in the growth and capabilities of each individual.
COGS Management: Oversee the analysis, reporting, and optimization of COGS to ensure financial targets are met while maintaining high-quality standards.
Cloud Capacity Planning: Manage cloud resource allocation and capacity planning to support the organization's growth and performance objectives efficiently.
Project Management: Drive the successful execution of technical programs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, timelines, and budgets.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including finance, engineering, and product management, to align strategies and objectives.
Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure the timely and successful completion of projects.
Performance Metrics: Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the effectiveness and efficiency of TPM initiatives.
Continuous Improvement: Stay current with industry trends and best practices, applying them to enhance the organization's TPM processes and methodologies.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree AND 6+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
OR equivalent experience.
4+ years people management experience.
3+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree AND 10+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
OR equivalent experience.
8+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
Proficient written and verbal communications skills, being comfortable creating roadmaps and presenting and storytelling to any audience or customer.
Experience influencing executive leadership and executive stakeholders.
Strategic planning skills and demonstrated experience at building then executing a compelling roadmap.
Experience working in a role where a team/organization conceived, built, operated, and evolved cloud services – including those which are ‘mission critical’ with challenging availability targets, or services which have reached significant scale – e.g., hundreds of millions of users, millions of API calls per second.
Possess technical acumen and an ability to translate what is really needed into clear requirements.
Experience working in business and operational roles and managing programs that involve complex budgeting, revenue projection, or margin analysis.
Ability to lead and drive consensus across team, leadership, and even organizational boundaries and to deliver outcomes – the scope of this role is division-wide.
Experience working in the Identity and/or Security technology domains.
Technical Program Management M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,400 - $294,000 per year.
