We are looking for a Principal Software Engineering Manager to join the Teams Fundamentals organization and lead our work on reliability and resiliency horizontal initiatives across our product. This includes the end to end strategy for how we measure reliability for our different audiences, how we leverage customer feedback, how we create diagnostics and analytics at scale to enable faster detection and debugging, build resilient architectures and engineering systems to assess, maintain and ensure a high level of reliability for everything we build in our app.
Responsibilities
As a Principal Software Engineering Manager you will:
Drive the E2E fundamentals strategy and execution for reliability and resiliency across Teams including analysis, initiatives to improve, building diagnostics and debuggability and engineering systems
Collaborate and partner effectively with Product, Customer success, Engineering teams within and beyond our org, to drive fundamentals excellence with a growth mindset, data driven approach grounded in customer obsession and empathy
Build, Develop, Grow and Lead a team of high performing engineers with a flexible, inclusive culture where everyone is enabled to be at their best
Lead technical activities in a hands-on way across initiatives from planning to design, development, analysis and debugging at scale
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
OR equivalent experience.
2+ experience as an engineering manager, or a technical lead with a passion for coaching and mentoring others.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with fundamentals and building quality software with a data driven approach
Ability to collaborate, communicate, drive initiatives, navigating ambiguity and building partnerships across teams
Experience with analyzing and debugging performance and reliability issues on Web, native and hybrid applications
Technical engineering experience with coding in web technology stacks including but not limited to JavaScript, React, Typescript, GraphQL, Chromium etc.
Software Engineering M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $133,600 - $256,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $173,200 - $282,200 per year.
