Microsoft Corporation Principal Software Engineer in Redmond, Washington

The Licensing and Billing Platform team within the Dataverse Foundations organization in the Business Industry for Copilot (BIC) is looking for a Principal Software Engineer. Our team implements and supports monetization scenarios with a vision to become the unified licensing stack for all of BIC including the Copilot AI platform.

The individual in this role will have a proven track record in building high-scale, low-latency services. This role sits at the intersection of BIC Core Services Platform, Modern Commerce and Data Engineering. This role requires technical and leadership skills, as well as the ability to collaborate effectively with multiple partner teams.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-scale, low-latency services that meet the needs of our diverse user base.Hands-on engineer who delivers high quality code that is maintainable, performant, testable and used in cross products.

  • Conduct efficient design and architectural discussions, ensuring that solutions are secure, reliable and maintainable.

  • Collaborate closely with multiple partner teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery of complex projects.

  • Drive effective project management and delivery within a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, or related technical discipline AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to C#, Java, C, C++, JavaScript or Python

  • OR equivalent experience.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check:

  • This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in data engineering and data modeling.

  • Experience with modern licensing and payment systems is a plus.

  • Experience in C# and .NET is a plus.

Software Engineering IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,400 - $294,000 per year.
