We are seeking a Principal Product Manager to join the Security Platform team. You will partner with security researchers, engineering and partner product teams to create and deliver features on a common platform that drives various solutions in Microsoft Security. Our customers’ heterogeneous environments contain a multitude of assets (devices, users, data systems etc.) with exabytes of data across their asset and activity stores. The Security Platform uses AI and agents to make this data re-usable at scale, with insights that can help our customers, and is built on the foundations of data security and compliance. This role requires cross-team, cross-company and cross-geo collaboration; and you will be partnering with a diverse, worldwide team to ensure that our solutions are best in class. Responsibilities

  • Translate business requirements from various Microsoft customers and products into a cohesive strategy for the security platform and prioritize investments and opportunities

  • Influence and drive engagement with internal partners and stakeholders to align on priorities and delivery of key capabilities in the platform

  • Build a product roadmap, define and prioritize product requirements, convert those requirements into crisp scenarios, prioritized product backlog and product specifications

  • Work with engineering to ensure that the security platform's capabilities are grounded in technical excellence and exceed the scale, performance, reliability and operational efficiency goals for the platform

  • Define clear objectives and key results to measure success for the platform's initiatives and creating project plans and an execution rhythm leading to timely, high-quality delivery

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree AND 8+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development

o OR equivalent experience.

Other Qualifications

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements as these are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire / transfer and every two years thereafter.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 10+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development

o OR equivalent experience.

  • Proven track record of working with large customers, developing relationships, and using customer empathy to understand and capture the customer's requirements

  • History of successfully working with developers and technology partners to drive product deliverables

  • Ability to quickly come up to speed on a variety of technologies and use that knowledge to drive product requirements/direction

  • Outstanding spoken and written communication skills and ability to present to executive leadership

Product Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,400 - $294,000 per year.
