We are looking for a world-class Senior Silicon Architect specializing in Power Modeling & Optimization focused on next-generation devices from wearables to data centers. The successful candidate will be a motivated self-starter who will thrive in this highly technical environment.


  • Your job responsibility will be developing an architecture level power and power/performance modeling methodology, creating and owning power models for a diverse set of products and form factors, and driving thermal power and battery life optimizations across the designs.

  • Build high quality power models and projections for new generations of SoCs and Platforms in various form factors, technologies and systems Work with system and software architects to define thermal and battery life scenarios and translate these to design targets and measurable benchmarks to be used through-out the architecture, implementation and production phases

  • Drive evaluation and provide recommendations for technology, IP, and vendor selection based on power and power/performance metrics Work closely with external vendors and the internal design teams to ensure accuracy of power models and convergence to power targets.

  • Guide the chip design teams on power optimizations opportunities and oversee power convergence vs targets through-out the design.

  • Occasional lab power measurements and power benchmarking Support the Systems Engineering team in implementing the system design & proving product power.

  • Support the SW team in optimizing code for power.


Minimum Requirements:

  • BS/MS in Electrical or Computer Engineering.

  • 7+ years of experience in silicon design and/or architecture

  • 3+ years of hands on experience in SoC and/or Platform power modeling and optimization Proven track record of successful design of IPs and SoCs.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop detailed power estimates from higher level feature, function and performance requirements.

  • Track record of team technical leadership & individual technical contribution on challenging projects. Excellent communication skills and ability to work with more junior team members to raise their skill level through mentoring & project experience.

  • Experience with power and thermal management architectures highly desirable Experience with system/platform level power modeling and optimization highly desirable Microsoft is an equal opportunity employer.
