The Manufacturing Technical Services (MTS) group is responsible for developing and transferring cutting edge manufacturing processes as part of the company's manufacturing footprint strategy and bring these processes to fruition. MTS is also a key component of advancing AWP manufacturing capability. This includes automation, digital transformation, and robotics. Main Duties and Responsibilities Fabricate and assemble custom machines and components Welding, cutting and detailed part layup Responsible for supporting product line transfers and startups as a member of the Manufacturing Technical Services team Works closely with sister teams around the world to implement product line equipment and solutions Participates in the installation and sequencing of machines, workstations, tools, parts and supplies to optimize the efficiency of the production process Develops and or duplicates machines, tools and processes based on engineering drawings and/or pictures Works closely with engineers to develop designs into solid models from concept sketches and generate detail drawings for machining, fabrication, and assembly Responsible for projects to create small production tools and devices Responsible to specify, find, and order components and hardware for mechanical projects Applies lean manufacturing knowledge and proficiency with assembly and metalworking processes, tooling, fixturing and material conveyance methods to develop the most efficient solutions Assists Engineers in preparing documentation for all training, operation and maintenance manuals for equipment developed Responsible for routine inspections, maintenance and upkeep of the team equipment and work areas Performs other duties as assigned that support the overall objective of the position Required Qualifications High School Diploma 4+ years' experience in industrial assembly or fabrication and production line setup Ability to weld and layout weldments by hand Preferred Qualifications Associates Degree in Mechanical tradecraft or equivalent Experience operating assembly equipment and troubleshooting of pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical components Manual and CNC machining experience Knowledge of PLC control systems Understanding and belief in lean manufacturing principles Experience or familiarity with 3P, 7 Ways, Prototyping, Simulations, Kaizen and the PDCA cycle to make improvements Ability to take advanced projects from concept to production (including manual creation and training material) Excellent problem-solving skills (identification and elimination of issues at the root cause) Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to teach others Ability to work independe
