Microsoft Corporation Business Manager, Consumer Channel & Partner Marketing in Redmond, Washington

As Business Manager, Consumer Channel & Partner Marketing , you will be responsible supporting the Channel and Partner Marketing Leadership Team by managing the ROB (rhythm of business) ensuring that the team is aware of and prepared for all necessary meetings and events. You will collaborate with teams across the CSO organization, and you will form a close partnership with other Business Management staff to ensure seamless planning and communication.

By joining the Consumer Channel & Partner Marketing (CCPM) team, you’ll collaborate closely with Category and Sales teams globally. As part of a world-wide team, you’ll have the opportunity to collaborate with regional teams to ensure that we are providing them with the support they need to execute with excellence. You will play a very important part in driving team culture making this the very best place to be! This role is hybrid and attendance in office for key team meetings is required.

Responsibilities

Organizational Alignment

  • Work across functions and across-company/team counterparts to manage team participation as needed for key business events, next fiscal year planning, business planning meetings and other strategic business planning activities

  • Partner closely with Executive Admin (EA) to manage the day-to-day running of the business and plan ahead to manage the annual rhythm of the business (ROB).

  • Partner with EA to plan and orchestrate world-wide CCPM Leadership Team and bi-weekly Global CCPM Leadership Team meetings, working closely with GM to structure agendas, content, and presenters.

  • Build strategy and workback schedules/content reviews for team meetings, events and communications including executive comms, newsletters, all-hands meetings and presentations.

  • Actively participate in CSO Business Manager forums, gathering and sharing critical information with the Leadership Team to ensure that the team has the necessary information to meet key deadlines and make decisions.

  • Support and guide vendor business program management and content design resources with workflows and prioritization of tasks to meet key deadlines.

Team Development & Culture

  • Drive strategy, organization, and execution of annual Culture motions to create a healthy team culture.

  • Drive strategy for team learning and development managing to budget and ensuring that our learning curriculum meets the needs of the business and our people.

  • Manage the executive summary reporting of bi-annual Employee Signals , including communication of results and the oversight of the action plan to deliver improvement on scores.

Business Planning

  • Source and curate content to feed into executive leadership presentations to position the team as thought leaders within the consumer business.

  • Work with the stakeholders in Category, Finance, and other functions to lead and coordinate the organization rhythm of the business (ROB) and improve processes by identifying opportunities to streamline and simplify.  

  • Collaborate with Finance Controller, CCPM leads, and Category leads to drive the annual planning and budget process supporting the team with templates and workback schedules to effectively document and manage the process and provide clarity.

  • Work with Finance to plan and manage annual discretionary and OPEX budgets and ensure there is accurate tracking and monitoring systems in place to flag over/under spend.

  • Manage required journal entries (as needed) to support reporting and management of external resources OPEX.

  • Partner with the GM, Business Operations and HR to drive the annual Blueprint/Rolex process to include organizational structure, taxonomy and role definitions.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, Finance or related field AND 6+ years work experience in program management, process management, process improvement

  • OR equivalent experience.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Direct people management experience is advantageous but not a requirement, good virtual people management skills required

  • Advanced oral and written communication skills, planning and organizational abilities

  • Work independently, handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, as well as negotiate and collaborate effectively

  • Ambitious, self-starter, thrives in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment, effectively manages priorities with an ability to work and build relationships with leaders, influencing decision making, willing to take on big challenges, advocate a position, build a business case, and influence others

  • Interpersonal and conflict resolutions skills that include exceptional cross-group collaboration skills to successfully and independently work across many teams and functions

  • Integrity, capable of solid judgement and decision-making skills, showing the utmost discretion in the management of confidential corporate information

  • Great understanding of Microsoft’s strategy, product, and service offerings, as well as company culture preferred

Business Program Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $115,000 - $200,300 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $146,200 - $219,200 per year.
