AnthroMed Education is an employer dedicated to partnering with School Social Workers with local schools across Michigan. Our organization has an immediate opening for a School Social Worker for an outstanding high school in Redford Charter Twp. Caseload details: 7th-12th grade, SpedEd, 50 to 60 students, CI, ASD, EI

 

School Social Worker Duties Entail:

  • Work with parents and children in a confidential and caring manner and assists the family, school, and community in anyway required to bridge gaps between family and schools.

  • Promote a school climate and culture conducive to student learning.

  • Utilize effective practices that provide for safe environments and supportive relationships.

  • Provide advocacy, child welfare, and case management services to students.

  • Assess, identify and provide clinical interventions to students with emotional, social, attendance and/or behavioral concerns within the general education population.

  • Utilize student performance data as a guide for decision making.

  • Perform consultations with classroom teachers and be a resource for school site personnel on mental health and social/emotional issues that may affect classroom performance.

  • Coordinate, develop and facilitate professional development for teachers, staff and administrators in the area of social/emotional learning, self-care and trauma sensitive schools.

  • Participates in and contributes to a school culture that focuses on improved student learning.

  • Attends meetings and professional development activities required.

  • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications of the School Social Worker:

  • Master’s in Social Work (MSW) required.

  • Licensure specific to the Michigan Department of Education.

  • Previous school experience working with students.
