Jacobs Land Technician (Northern California) in Redding, California

As a Land Technician in California, you are responsible for preparing land acquisition right of entry and easement documents for infrastructure projects across California. The candidate will work with the team to ensure that all land acquisition documents are prepared to execute the project. Candidate will also perform general administrative work to ensure easements are documented, stored, and reported accurately.

Core Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare land acquisition easements to include deed jackets in MS Word and exhibit plats in CAD.

  • Read, interpret, and plot legal descriptions in CAD from vesting deeds and title reports.

  • Verify existing survey data to public records such as vesting deeds, record maps, right of way maps, tax maps, etc.

  • Collaborate with project team to ensure easement areas align with company needs.

  • Produce high-quality documents with little to zero corrections.

  • Track and store work in SalesForce and ProjectWise programs.

  • Participate in team meetings as needed or required.

  • Self-motivated with a desire to learn and grow within the organization.

  • Minimum of five (5) years of land survey mapping experience particularly related to utility and/or right of way projects.

  • Must be proficient with MS Office Word and Outlook, Adobe PDF, AutoCAD Civil3D, and Google Earth.

  • Also, helpful if experienced working in SAP, Salesforce, and ProjectWise.

  • Must be proficient working with design drawings, survey topo and boundary data, base maps, and right of way maps.

  • Must be competent in reviewing and understanding legal descriptions and conducting land survey research.

  • Basic understanding of issues related to easements and land rights.

  • Strong inter-personal relationship skills, and verbal and written communication skills.

  • Problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.

Ideally, you'll also have:

  • Active LSIT or PLS

The work areas may be indoor, outdoor, have loud noise, active machinery, high pressure fluid systems, electrical equipment, confined spaces, heights and depths, fumes, air borne particles, noxious gases, and chemicals. The use of appropriate safety equipment will be mandatory in these areas to prevent hazardous contact.
