JOB REQUIREMENTS: City of Red Wing Public Works - Waste Campus Division has openings for 2 CDL drivers to join the team! Must possess and maintain a valid Class A commercial driver\'s license. This is a safety sensitive and critical workforce position. The Solid Waste Division provides management and support services for the collection and disposal of garbage and recyclable materials for the residents, commercial and industrial users, and institutions in the City of Red Wing. Schedule: Refuse & Recycling position schedule is Monday through Thursday 6:30am to 3:30pm and Friday 6:30am to 10:30am. The Material Recovery Facility (MRF) position the schedule is Monday through Friday 9am to5pm. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Experience Required: Some training in equipment operation and two (2) years of related work experience. Minimum Education Requirements: High School Diploma or G.E.D. Certification/License: Valid Class A commercial driver\'s license (CDL) with tanker and airbrakes endorsement Physical Requirements Considerable ability to perform heavy manual labor requiring continuous use of large motor skills, standing for long periods, and frequent bending, stooping, twisting, turning, crouching, stretching, and reaching. Frequent exposure to noise, vehicle exhaust, grease, oil, dust, odors and grime. Frequent exposure to seasonal temperature extremes, inclement weather and associative hazards. Exposure to materials that enter the waste stream, some of which may present hazards if not correctly handled. Work around moving equipment and vehicular traffic requires caution as well as use of safety apparel. Work may include intermittent lifting, pushing or pulling of over 60 pounds. Required to work in permit and non-permit confined spaces in the role of Entrant, Attendant or Supervisor.
