ACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVE

As part of the Voice & Video Operation team, responsible for architecture, engineering, design, implementation, operation, maintenance, regulatory compliance, and ongoing reliability for Voice & Video computing devices such as application servers, IP PBX/Telephones, and audio & video conferencing systems. This includes network routing & switching, wireless LAN (802.11x) networks and voice & video services (VoIP, PBX, voice mail, voice recorders, phones, IVR, video, and satellite).

  • Implements and troubleshoots enterprise Voice-related solutions/incidents/system outages. Cisco CUCM and CMS.

  • Must have strong organizational and communication skills with focus on customer service, attention to detail and effective follow-up.

  • Recommends and integrates new Telecommunication Voice, Video and Cisco Unified Communications technologies.

  • Network infrastructure to include converged IP networks, Routers, Switches, and Voice Gateways.

  • Participates in LAN projects to ensure computing and network architecture solutions are solid, well integrated, and comply with technical strategy.

  • Supports the operational performance and maintenance of existing Voice and Video systems as well as design and delivery of new products/product enhancements.

  • Implements technical standards and regulatory requirements to Voice and Video systems.

  • Stays current with technology changes and the relationships of technology to emerging business requirements.

  • Leverages Cisco management tools, HP Operations Manager, HP Project and Portfolio Management (PPM), and other tools used to monitor, control & track the performance of these systems and manage the work.

  • Champions safe work practices in accordance with all Corporate policies.

  • Makes field visits in support of projects, maintenance, or relocations (as necessary).

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  1. Provide daily and project support for the Voice team in support of platforms and applications delivering data, voice, video, and computing services to FE employees, contractors, and business partners.

  2. Plan and complete changes in the LAN/data network environment in support of data, voice or video work.

  3. Responsible for the reliability and availability of data, voice and video systems.

  4. Work with users and manage the expectations of FE business units.

  5. Responsible for the disaster recovery preparation and document for these systems.

  6. Knowledge and full understanding of the operation of the network and the impact of changes, follow all applicable policies & procedures to effectively manage risk to FE’s Data Network environments.

REQUIREMENTS

  1. Bachelor or Associates Degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications or related field, or equivalent experience in a network engineering field.

  2. Professional level knowledge of routing and switching equipment, LAN topologies, network protocols, wireless LAN systems (Cisco wireless a plus), data center networks, and Voice & Video technologies and services (VoIP, PBX, voice mail, voice recorders, phones, IVR, video conferencing systems, and satellite). CCNP or CCVP preferred.

  3. Knowledge of the OSI reference model.

  4. Preferred knowledge includes project management concepts & tools, and environmental support systems for supported technology platforms (e.g., HVAC, AC/DC power systems, batteries, generators, etc.).

  5. Possess interpersonal, communications (written & verbal), and presentation skills.

  6. Minimum of 4 - 7 years professional-level experience required.
