J&J Family of Companies Calibration Technician in Raritan, New Jersey
The Wound Closure & Healing and Biosurgery R&D Organization in Raritan, NJ, is recruiting for a Calibration Technician. Wound Closure & Healing and Biosurgery (WCHB) are a part of the Johnson & Johnson MedTech Surgery organization.
The MedTech Organization, based in Raritan, New Jersey, was founded more than 80 years ago as a pioneer in suture development and manufacturing, helping to transform the safety and effectiveness of open surgery. The MedTech Organization offers a broad range of products, platforms and technologies including— sutures, hemostasis products, surgical staplers, trocars, energy devices and synthetic mesh devices—that are used in a wide variety of minimally-invasive and open surgical procedures. Specialties include support for treatment of colorectal and thoracic conditions, women's health conditions, hernias, oncology, and obesity.
This position will report in through the Calibration Department in R&D, and will include the following responsibilities:
Support the overall calibration program at the Raritan MedTech site.
Perform the calibration of various measurement instruments, including but not limited to pressure gauges, temperature and flow sensors, dimensional tool and electrical testing equipment.
Perform calibration, routine preventative maintenance, repairs, adjustments, and general cleaning of laboratory equipment, as needed.
Support other calibration staff in troubleshooting and resolving calibration-related issues, as needed.
Document calibration results and review/prepare reports to ensure traceability and compliance with internal and external standards and good documentation practices (GDPs).
Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
Adhere to and complete required job-specific, safety, and company specific trainings on-time.
Provide vendor support for calibration services, including, but not limited to assisting with calibration vendor pick-up and drop offs, providing requested/required operational checks, and additional vendor coordination as appropriate.
Comfortable working in a laboratory or industrial environment.
Qualifications
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification, degree in a related field, or 1 year of related experience is a plus.
Required Skills & Experience:
Basic knowledge of measurement principles and instrumentation.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
A high level of organization and the ability to handle multiple tasks.
Be comfortable working independently, as well as on a team.
Proficient with standard computer software (e.g., Microsoft Office) and have strong oral and written communication skills.
Other:
- This position is based in Raritan, NJ and requires to be on-site 5 days a week.
The anticipated base pay range for this position is [$57,500] to [$65,000]
The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/ performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.
