Summary This National Guard position is for an Supervisory Intelligence and Security Specialist, Position Description Number NGD2495000 and is part of JFHQ - G3. This is a Title 32, Dual-Status position. AREAS OF CONSIDERATION - Members of the South Dakota Army National Guard or those eligible to join. Responsibilities As a Supervisory Intelligence and Security Specialist, GS-0132-12, you will: This position serves as the Assistant Director of Intelligence and Security for the State Intelligence and Security Office. This is an Army National Guard (ARNG) Dual Status Technician position requiring military membership. The purpose of this position is to serve as the full assistant to the Director of Intelligence and Security. Share in and assists the director with respect to all phases of the work of the organization and planning, directing, and administering the State Intelligence and Security Programs. Supervises positions engaged in substanitive Intelligence Security work. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: 2LT to LTC. Military grade inversion within the full-time work force is not permitted. The military grade of the full time supervisor must equal or exceed the military grade of personnel supervised. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, or training which demonstrates administrative, professional, investigative, or technical work requiring the ability to deal effectively with others, to collect, evaluate and organize pertinent facts. Experience preparing clear and concise written reports. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 12 months experience, education or training developing and recommending policy, organizing and carrying out specific programs, evaluating and recommending changes in methods of intelligence operations. Experience in administrative, investigative, or technical work which required the applicant to deal effectively with others. Experience collecting, evaluating and organizing pertinent facts and to analyze and prepare clear and concise reports. SUPERVISORY EXPERIENCE: Experience in managing the function of the work to be performed. Experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel. Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities (KSAs): Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit a separate sheet(s) addressing the Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs) and how they relate to work experience, education or training. Skill to oversees all the State's ARNG Intelligence and Security activities, based on State force structure, equipment, and missions. Skill to review and analyze supported State ARNG plans and operations to determine current and future intelligence and GIS requirement. Ability to develop, interpret, and oversee the administration of state policies, rules, and procedures adapted from policies prescribed by the ARNG, Department of the Army, Department of Defense, and/or other federal laws or regulations. Knowledge to supervise military and civilian personnel assigned to the State Intelligence and Security Office.
