Red Hat Software Engineer, Product Security Development in Raleigh, North Carolina

Develop a security issue tracking system to enable tracking of vulnerabilities, weaknesses, and risks in components making up Red Hat’s offerings. Develop a service to support the overall workflow from identification of an issue to it being fixed and patch delivered to Red Hat’s customers.

*Telecommuting permitted: work may be performed within normal commuting distance from the Red Hat, Inc. office in Raleigh, NC.

What You Will Do:

  • Solve challenging data problems and collaborate with other team members to align on a common vision for the entire application portfolio.

  • Design and develop a service for tracking security issues in Red Hat’s offerings.

  • Design and develop a workflow support service for issue management throughout its life cycle.

  • Improve and maintain continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD) pipelines of applications deployed in various environments, such as improving automated deployment to a Red Hat OpenShift cluster.

  • Serve as an adviser to stakeholders on process-related inquiries, including advising on data model for storing Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE) which impact components.

  • Continuously improve the process of Red Hat's software delivery, including suggesting and implementing automation for legal approval of components in the registry.

What You Will Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or related role.

  • Must have three (3) years of experience with Python (with Django framework) programming;

  • Must have three (3) years of experience with open-source database software, including PostgreSQL or MariaDB;

  • Must have three (3) years of experience with OpenShift and containers;

  • Must have one (1) year of experience with JavaScript programming;

  • Must have one (1) year of experience with Java programming;

  • Must have one (1) year of experience with JIRA and Agile practices;

  • Must have one (1) year of experience with continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD);

  • Must have one (1) year of experience with creating and maintaining enterprise messaging systems;

  • Must have one (1) year of security experience in Linux OS.

The salary range for this position is $103,272 - $144,660. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.

Pay Transparency

Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat’s compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity. For positions with Remote-US locations, the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
