Role:

The Sr. Technical Enablement O11y Product Portfolio Manager is a leader with technical enablement, product, and field experience to ensure customers, partners and Splunkers can effectively build their capabilities to deliver outcomes with Splunk. This leader will ensure that the Splunk technical field organization (Sales Engineering, Professional Services, Customer Success, and Technical Support), partner and customer ecosystem have the latest technical knowledge and skills needed for each of the Observability product releases and updates. They will own the new product introduction (NPI) and new feature introduction (NFI) enablement readiness programs. By demonstrating deep technical background and knowledge of the activities these roles perform, this role will provide strategic vision while operating tactically to help us expand, evolve, modernize, and measure the impact of our technical enablement programs. This will include onboarding, accreditations, bootcamps and other technical enablement events. In this high-energy global position, you will have to be a quick learner who can collaborate with colleagues, partners and customers in different geos, organizations, and teams.

Meet the Team:

Our Global Technical Enablement team sits within the Education organization, as part of our Customer Success and Experience organization. This team's mission is to enable Splunk's partners and technical field teams with the knowledge and skills necessary to perform their roles and responsibilities. We are looking for an innovative and experienced Senior Product Portfolio Manager dedicated to the Splunk Observability learning portfolio.

What you'll get to do

  • Serve as first point of contact for technical enablement for leaders within Splunk and our Partner network for our Splunk O11y Portfolio

  • Define a comprehensive enablement strategy, process, and prioritized roadmap for the related business and product groups – ensuring enablement programs, curricula, and learning paths align to product roadmaps, launches, and incremental releases, stakeholder needs, business opportunity, and goals.

  • Build an operating framework of measures and Key Performance Indicators to demonstrate the execution and business impact of the enablement strategy.

  • Own the success and execution of technical enablement across phased activities (e.g., design, development, delivery, evaluation) and life cycle of relevance – from onboarding to continuous learning and quarterly enablement plans.

  • Analyze business and learner performance metrics to inform enablement strategy and to continuously improve quality of content, format, and delivery worldwide.

  • Serve as a “trusted advisor” and ensure true understanding of both business and technical enablement needs.

  • Participate in staff meetings and interlocks to assess enablement requirements and feedback and to present quarterly enablement business reviews.

  • Evangelize, communicate, and market enablement programs and initiatives through learning paths, Slack, portal updates, newsletters, quarterly webcasts, etc.

Must-have Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience delivering and crafting technical training at Enterprise/SaaS companies.

  • Deep technical knowledge and experience with the Splunk Observability product portfolio, and software release process.

  • Understand the customer facing technical ecosystem including the diverse enablement needs of various functions like presales, delivery, support, and partners.

  • Knowledge of Splunk observability, core, and security technology and products; and industry Enterprise software and Cloud technologies

  • Proven track record of working independently with a “make it happen” attitude; able to operate in areas of uncertainty and ambiguity; problem solver and quick learner.

  • Experience with education technology such as learning management systems, sales enablement platforms, video services, content development tools, and virtual delivery platforms.

  • Demonstrable ability to influence and closely partner with:

  1. Product Management and Engineering to align product releases with content updates and technical enablement delivery.

  2. Customer Success and Sales Engineering Field Leadership to ensure our programs are meeting the needs of our customer success, professional services, sales engineers, and technical support engineers.

  3. Subject Matter Experts and Content developers to build instructionally sound, engaging, and interactive technical enablement content.

  4. Global Field Enablement team members who create sales enablement and product-based learning experiences.

  5. Education and Certification teams for Accreditation and Learning Paths development.

Nice-to-have Qualifications

  • Content development and instructional design experience.

  • Education: Bachelors/Masters’ degree in a technical field.

  • Experience integrating deep technical content to courseware catalog.

Note:

Base Pay Range

SF Bay Area, Seattle Metro, and New York City Metro Area

Base Pay Range: $160,000.00 - 220,000.00 per year

California (excludes SF Bay Area), Washington (excludes Seattle Metro), Washington DC Metro, and Massachusetts

Base Pay Range: $144,000.00 - 198,000.00 per year

All other cities and states excluding California, Washington, Massachusetts, New York City Metro Area and Washington DC Metro Area.

Base Pay Range: $129,600.00 - 178,200.00 per year

Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the base pay range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the base pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out above, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for incentive compensation and may be eligible for equity or long-term cash awards.
